DJ Dangerous Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 I received a few packages in the post on Wednesday! Very happy bunny. The 141 is not in my favourite IE livery, but A 141 is better than NO 141! DJD Senior was at the Blackrock Show a week or two ago and will next month be sending another EGV to me along with a few Cravens, to augment the collection. 5 Quote
burnthebox Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 (edited) DON'T KNOW WHO WOULDN'T BE A HAPPY BUNNY AFTER GETTING THAT LOT,. DON'T MIND IF I SAY I'M JEALOUS... Edited November 10, 2019 by burnthebox 1 Quote
Noel Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 Congrats. Enjoy. B165 in that CIE Black'n'Tan livery IMHO is the iconic livery for those 1962 delivered GM locos. Some nice Cravens in there too. 2 Quote
DJ Dangerous Posted November 10, 2019 Author Posted November 10, 2019 I even managed to give 165 a little run tonight: 3 Quote

DiveController Posted November 16, 2019 Posted November 16, 2019 For some that 141 in BnT livery is the best up there and that Cravens (with the single thick white band) on the innermost curve would run perfectly behind her 2 Quote

Frizinghall had five dual-band Cravens in stock. I ordered the five, and they wrote to me to say that somebody had previously sold a Cravens in the wrong box, and they only had four dual-band and one single-band. Gimme gimme gimme. 2 Quote
DiveController Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 (edited) I'm 'sure' that some of the cravens stock was not painted with the dual band and hung around for FO and MO services. There are several threads on cravens on the site, must take a look regarding dates and the validity of that assertion Edited December 1, 2019 by DiveController 1 Quote

WRENNEIRE Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 Dont think you need to have your Club Orange posted man Available in most shops? 2 Quote
DiveController Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 Apparently it's a freebie when you purchase 2 or more rolling stock in an orange livery 1 Quote

JasonB Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 That's a nice collection of stock you've gotten your hands on recently Dangerous. Enjoy. 1 Quote
DJ Dangerous Posted April 29, 2020 Author Posted April 29, 2020 No Club Orange with this lot, though. Tracking these little gems down is thirsty work. 2 Quote
Broithe Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 Anybody know the RAL code for the colour of Club Orange? 1 Quote
Noel Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 Enjoy DJ, great collection of Irish stock, especially the baby GMs 1 Quote

DJ Dangerous Posted January 22, 2021 Author Posted January 22, 2021 A few more packages received, crowning off what was a very expensive but very successful year! Only missing two 141's for the collection, B188 and 171, so if anybody has either BNIB and wishes to part with them, drop me a line. Again, feeling lucky as Hell with this lot. Many thanks to @murphaphand @WRENNEIREfor their work and their help with this haul! A 29000 and some grey 071's on the way, too, courtesy of Chris Dyer! 11 1 Quote
Georgeconna Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 Nice one on the Grey ones, the only ones I did not get, Kinda kicking myself now as handy with the newish Rolling Stock. Mind you I would probably do re paint on a suitable LED headlight jobbie and have the Handrails out. good ol Catches there kid. 1 Quote
Noel Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 Well done sourcing some rare items. That's a great collection 1 Quote
DJ Dangerous Posted January 22, 2021 Author Posted January 22, 2021 The grey ones are actually repaints, commissioned via Chris. Works out cheaper, faster and easier sourcing 082's and 085's for repainting into grey, rather than sourcing grey ones! 1 Quote
Georgeconna Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 Cool, I hope the dude doing them took off the previous markings, Some did not and it took the gloss of em. I have to get around to one sometime. 1 Quote

irishthump Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 I see you got yourself a Lokprogrammer. Great investment if you plan on having a lot of sound equipped locos. 1 Quote

Lots of learning ahead, and it'll probably be summer before I have time to actually look at doing anything at all, but I'm sure it'll be better in the long run. EDIT: Actually, it'll probably be autumn, as my summer week off will be the first this year, and the family are probably flying down for that! Edited January 23, 2021 by DJ Dangerous 1 Quote

The Lokprogrammer is actually a lot simpler than you might think especially if you just want to load sounds to decoders. 2 Quote

murphaph Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 The Lokprogrammer has a basic throttle that can run a loco to test it. Mine is connected to a rolling road but you could hook it up to a small test oval. It has enough power to run a couple of locos. 1 Quote
DJ Dangerous Posted March 2, 2021 Author Posted March 2, 2021 Very special package arrived today! Thanks to @murphaph for giving me the heads-up. These things are like gold dust. 7 Quote
