heirflick Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 any plans to remotor the metro vics? my ones are god-awful runners and the noise would deaffen the m-i-l! Quote
BosKonay Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 hehe, they are 'ok' = not hugely noisy, but god awful pullers Can barely make it around with 5 cravens, never mind a freight :)I wonder could you squeeze a modern deltic under there.. Quote
RedRich Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I think the videos are a bit too late for the Golden Globes and Oscars Stephen, but it's nice to see you having fun running your stock. It's a great alternative to if you are having one of those days. Rich, Quote
enniscorthyman Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Now that is a gas video.you are inspiring me to soon get some track relayed in my own attick. Quote
Sulzer201 Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Top class modelling and great video work - next time RTE run a programme on Irish Model Railways you'll be first in line Stephen. Quote
BosKonay Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 lol, cheers lads I've another small mountain of supplies en route, and hope to pick up a small mountain of stuff at the fair Sunday I'll get back to the modelling then, and try a few more movies once I get some more ballast and some basic scenics down Quote
BabyGM Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Fabulous video this must be the longest thread in the site by now 106 pages when I last checked Quote
cogleyl Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I'm looking for a decent design software for windows, I want to be able to design multiple baseboards for customers.[/quoteI dont know if this is any help but i found this program called scarm, i find it very useful. here's a link http://www.scarm.info/index_en.html#download Quote
BosKonay Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Counting the minutes to a new arrival. So only time for 189 to work a transfer with some laden ballasters. Quote
Dave Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Looks great, best of luck with the new arrival hope all goes well Quote
BosKonay Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Thanks Dave Counting the minutes 189 is a total durt burd An Anto special (she has the graffiti on the far side ) The per way lads must have been well stuck to have to use her to shift the pretty new ballasters As an aside, I got a few Loads from Ten Commandments in the UK for the ballasters - they need a lick of durt, but are great. BosKonay Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Just realised the Layouts first anniversary was on the 22nd just past 1 Year in Quote
irishthump Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Looks great, best of luck with the new arrival hope all goes well Yeah, looking forward to getting my Supertrain 071 too! Quote
BabyGM Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Good luck with the new arrival hard to believe the layout is a year in already Quote
Kirley Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 How could you miss your layouts 1st years’ anniversary? With a 1000+ entries to date what will year two bring? Quote
BosKonay Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 (edited) Well, almost 8 weeks later and sneaking to the attic for 2 minutes is almost possible again! That said, it was purely to witness abcdefghijklmnopqrstuv-078 cross the viaduct with a wagon transfer! Edited April 18, 2013 by BosKonay Quote
BosKonay Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Job courtesy of Seamus Grahams - and I have to say, she's growing on me something fierce :) Next up and very rough 'plonk' mockup of what is planned to be a very neglected backstreet behind the terminus building... The flats on the left will be cordoned off and the builders in ripping them apart... Need to find a dirty, urban backscene Quote
jhb171achill Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Wow! Excellent buildings, and 879878973647657652873982787989787676569868757877093719278537612397178923576126039196712 - 078 is awesome too. Are you the first with one in grey, I wonder? Quote
BosKonay Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 A better overview of the 'plonking' To the right will be the retaining walls of the terminus, to the left a girder bridge and the foreground will be wasteland Quote
BosKonay Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Better shot, plan is to add some standing out estate agents signs to the walls too, and some sky dishes, overflowing bins, etc - lots of urban neglect and decay, with filthy trains rumblin past in the foreground Quote
Glenderg Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 You gonna set fire to the bus too, to get the full effect? Oh, and there's a man trapped beneath the fence. Where's Elf and Safety when you need em! Lookin good Bosko. Quote
BosKonay Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Was thinking a burnt out car allright Might be a step too far Quote
Dave Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Looking good, I have to say the new livery is growing on my, Anthony is doing an 071 in it for me and lightly weathered. Love the buildings, Glenderg I presume? Quote
BosKonay Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Believe is or not the flats are flat, 2d printouts wrapped around some thick card ! Richie has a long and ever lengthening list in progress for me Not least of which is the entire massive structure, overroof, platforms, canopies and buildings of the terminus itself Quote
RedRich Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I like the way you can see through the open curtains of the 1st floor center window above the convenience store Stephen. It gives the building some character.. The model of 078 looks marvelous, the handles on the valves painted in green and yellow is a nice touch. It shows a great eye for detail. Rich, Quote
Weshty Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Lovely job on the loco, must say the new "livery" does look imposing, apart from those twattish side numbers. Sráid Urban Decay looks well, all that's missing is some some wildlife and a few vicious screeching birds (the ones with hoops on their ears, rather than on their legs). Quote
201bhoy Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Was thinking a burnt out car allright Might be a step too far No, it's not. Do it. Quote
BosKonay Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I fear that little street might end up an oul parody allright Quote
201bhoy Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I fear that little street might end up an oul parody allright Sherriff Street? Gardiner Street? Quote
