Eiretrains Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Seriously tempted to get 113 but apart from the Enterprise, has this been used on any other services with Irish Rail? In the early 2000s (2003 or so) it worked a Tullamore cement, and a trip working in the Dublin area, so it wouldn't be totally out of place on IE metals. ,
Killucan2 Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Also worked 1825 Waterford one Friday night and next morning beet Waterford limerick juction @ 2003. M.
LMSNCC Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 After reading the above posts I was pretty sure I had seen photos of its time on IE in 2003 so after a bit of searching I found them. Here are the links: http://www.ie071.co.uk/Photo's/111%20Photo/113/023.jpg http://www.ie071.co.uk/Photo's/111%20Photo/113/024.jpg http://www.ie071.co.uk/Photo's/111%20Photo/113/025.jpg http://www.ie071.co.uk/Photo's/111%20Photo/113/026.jpg http://www.ie071.co.uk/Photo's/111%20Photo/113/027.jpg Like the last photo of 113 with the beet beside 112 at Limerick Junction
iarnrod Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Thanks for the photos lads. Guess 8113 is going on the 'To Order' list so..... Love the shot alongside 112 at Limerick Junction.
skinner75 Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Going to have to get 8113 - always had a soft spot for the look of the larger yellow panel compared to the other two
RedRich Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 That's a very welcome and appreciated surprise. I'll have to invest in 8113, I love the NIR dark blue livery on these models and the prototype. Well done to all concerned. Rich,
Sentinel281 Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 The pre production samples already look great. Does anyone know when the livery changed from light blue to darker blue and when the 8 was added? Gerhard.
217 RIVER FLESK Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 No idea when the colour changed Gerhard or come to that the exact date that the '8' was added, but for what it's worth in June 1998 she was still 113, but by March 2003 she was 8113. Cheers, Mike C
LMSNCC Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 The pre production samples already look great. Does anyone know when the livery changed from light blue to darker blue and when the 8 was added? Gerhard. 113 received the darker blue livery in June/July 1989 and received the 8 prefix in April 1999
Kirley Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Were not all 3 NIR Class 111’s used on the Enterprise Service until they were replaced in 1995 with the arrival of the 208 Class?
Sentinel281 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Thanks for the information concerning liveries, that helps making decisions...
