GNRi1959 Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Your modelling is very impressive, a question off subject. What heights are your embankments raised? I have to do the same job soon, my bridges were 12' clearance underneath so I reckoned on around 60-70mm to top of trackbed. Quote

I am not sure,as I just matched the height of the embankment to the bridge. Quote

Broithe Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 The inevitable slight variations in a kit-built rake can often be a great advantage when depicting hard-worked wagons. It's hard to replicate rough usage in a run of factory-produced items. 2 Quote
Broithe Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Has anybody tried millet seeds as beets? They should be available in health food shops and even pet food outlets. There has been a tendency for the seeds to get bigger as selective breeding heads in that direction. Might be best to inspect before buying, where possible. Maybe worth a look? 1 Quote
murrayec Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 Hi Guys Someone some time back posted on here or elsewhere- they used a seed for beets, after in storage they found it went mouldy and made a bit of a mess of the models! I'd try and use something inorganic...... Lovely work, lovely train Eoin Quote

enniscorthyman Posted June 23, 2018 Author Posted June 23, 2018 Just finished a Provincial wagons side opening container.I used a Dapol Prestwin kit for the chassis, along with extra detail from Dart castings which include buffers and draw hooks. The Prestwin chassis is a bit short in length, but I am happy enough with it. 6 Quote
