Hunslet 102 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Top notch again Noel, your sperry train looks fantastic, but your fertilizer train with the 071 in CIE orange and black is more of an appeal to me Quote
h gricer Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 That Sperry is just like the real thing, Noel can you post up some close up photo of the ''weathered fertiliser'' wagons, the detail is superb, I'm definitely due another visit. Regards hg Quote

ttc0169 Posted November 6, 2013 Author Posted November 6, 2013 I had a visitor from the sunny southeast this afternoon when enniscorthyman brought his two axle ballast train with sound fitted loco 190 along to assist with some Perway duties alongside my current HOBS train with sound fitted 011077, An excellent and enjoyable eveing was had operating the various trains, Eamonns sound fitted A39 also made an appearance hauling an ITG Cravens special-both locos sounding and looking great.... Both ballast trains are side by side awaiting clearance into the Perway possessions. A busy scene on Tara junction-190 awaits clearance to discharge ballast while 077 has discharged some of its ballast and is propelling back to load again. A39 works over the up line as maintenece work is taking place on the down line A39 operates through Tara junction station at a reduced speed of 25mph. Quote
BosKonay Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Ah lads!!! Exquisite Any chance of a video? :) Quote
ttc0169 Posted November 6, 2013 Author Posted November 6, 2013 Ah lads!!! Exquisite Any chance of a video? :) That's Eamonns department Stephen.....and will be shown over the next few days....we are going for a few pints of the black stuff now.... Quote
Glenderg Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Love the contrast of the old ballast against the shiny new auto's. I'd be old skool all the way. Is that the longest pw train on the circuit? Enjoy the few pints lads, well deserved. Quote
enniscorthyman Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 God,jaw dropping stuff having paid first visit to tara junction, such an incredible collection of irish locos and buses.i hope to get some video tomorrow so hopefully we can show the sound on a39 to good effect.Neol was impressed with the sound off a39,and as the a39 Sound project is not released yet,I will try to give people a chance to hear it for themselves if it can be arranged. Hunslet 102 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Great shots again of the layout Noel,a great comparison between the old and new style ballast wagons,I really like the look of the old style wagons, they look similar to the old GNR type hoppers. The layout has a different story to tell with each picture, its a credit to you and I am sure running sessions could wile away many hours.Great stuff Quote
RedRich Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Excellent stuff Noel. It's fantastic to see the different era's modelled as I can see all the liveries I grew up loving. I love A39 and Eamonn has done a superb job on her. I can't wait to see the video. The choices available to you for running sessions is limitless and I can see how you can disappear into the small world and stay there for hours, and that is what it is all about. Rich, Quote
Southern Yard Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I think Tara junction needs A39 permanently, it looks fab! Bring on the videos would love to hear her with sound. Quote
enniscorthyman Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I got some video of A39 ,and of course the very minute I started to record we had trains dividing and A39 shows she needs more weight as she found poor grip with the cravens and van.Had a great time watching Tara Junction,an incredible layout, all credit to Noel. I think I spent 3 hours watching the action. Now bare with me on the video,I have it on the Hard Drive camcorder so I may see how to post up here. Quote
RedRich Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 No worries Eamonn, really looking forward to it, the wait will be worth it. Rich, Quote

enniscorthyman Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Good to hear your 071s are going well. Its hard to believe its a week since the Ballast Ex-Enniscorthy paid a visit to Tara Junction in order to help with engineering works. The folks who traveled on the ITG special with A39 were very happy with the railtour. Many thanks Noel, its nice to see them close up, the weathering is excellent, right down to the dirty numbers, it was rare to see a clean fert wagon, maybe just out of the works, the fertiliser wagons got very dirty, Shelton Abbey was a dirty kip, the dust was everywhere, loading fertiliser in places like New Ross or Foynes, then unloading it in places like Athenry or Farranfore in the winter in poor weather, the wagons where always dusty, very unusual and rare to see them exWorks. ttc0169 Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 Excellent video Eamonn-A39 and 190 sound great-It was a brilliant operating session.... h g-Thanks for the useful info re; the fertiliser wagons-your always welcome at Tara junction... Quote
Hunslet 102 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Great video Noel that really showcases your layout.Must be great setting 4trains running on the main lines and then doing a bit of shunting in the sidings,a real hussle bussle of a busy station area.Tara Junction,a real railway in miniture. The fertiliser wagons look great also. Kirley Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Excellent video both of A39 and the layout. Plenty to hold the viewers attention, I'm sure it must have been a great evening. Quote
kevrail Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Great video and great to see Tara junction layout in full. More Please Quote
Dave Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Great video, watched it 4 times to take it all in. So much going on, great layout. Loved the A39 Quote
BosKonay Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Great to see a video of Tara Jnctn Looking fantastic! Quote
enniscorthyman Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 As has been said so much happening on this layout, and I think about 3 hours sailed by before we knew it.Sorry about the delay on video as It s taken me ages to upload to youtube-must get better internet connection. I was wondering what Noel thought of a39 sounds as not many people have heard it in the flesh. Gerrys ballybeg had them on show last year, but its hard to hear the sound proper at a show. Noel gave the thumbs up to the A39 sound chip, and in case you are wondering, the chip only has F2 horn sound hence why it has not been released yet. As can be seen from the video A39 needs more weight, and other than that runs very well. Quote
RedRich Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Really enjoyed the video Eamonn. I've been a fan of Tara Junction for a long time and love seeing Noels updates. Seeing trains moving on it is fabulous. I've watched it myself a few times and top marks again for A39 she looks great. Rich, Quote
