Galteemore Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Not my era Noel either but that’s nice. Good sound effects. 1 Quote

All lightly weathered except the RTR Lima Murphy Model example as I'd like to keep that as produced. PS: Desperately modern for my era so might auction them off for a charity later in the year. If they come with a grey 071, SOLD!!! 1 Quote

Ha, just about to respray an 071 donor (formerly 085) into freight grey. Picked it up inexpensively on ebay some years ago as a potential donor chassis for a B101 kit I have, but think I'll use another Bachmann donor I got off ebay for that instead and respray the 071 into grey. Rake of 7 resprayed mk3s during covid safety restrictions. 7 Mk3s done, Left to right, Hornby (ex virgin), Hornby (ex Virgin), Lima (ex BR Swallow), Lima (ex BR Swallow), Lima Murphy Model RTR, Hornby Shortie (ex BR Blue), Hornby Shortie (ex BR Swallow). One more Shortie in the paint shop at the moment. And EGV on the cutting bench. Hauled by 182. I don't really like 201 prototype as a model, too long for my taste. I suppose there should be an IR tippex 071 hauling that set. 4 Quote

There's about as much chance of yellow s*** running on our layout as there is of Fr Jack Hackett allowing a nun to push his wheel chair past a pub! 1 3 Quote

Noel Posted January 25, 2022 Author Posted January 25, 2022 IRM A class A17 running under DCC with Lenz Silver+ decoder hauling a set of mk3 resprayed coaches (6 resprays + 1 MM/Lima RTR). This loco is such an ultra smooth runner. Really easy to get the decoder into. Love it. 5 Quote
Noel Posted January 26, 2022 Author Posted January 26, 2022 (edited) Correction A17 IR livery IRM A class now running with rake of weathered Murphy Model Mk2d coaching stock, rather than mk3 coaches which A class did not haul. Yea A class had vacuum brakes but mk3 stock was air braked, so A class could not haul mk3 coaching stock. Apologies for the blooper. Video above is A class correctly hauling mk2d stock. Noel Posted September 26, 2022 Author Posted September 26, 2022 Its been quite a long time since I got to play trains. Had a visitor over the other day who wanted to see 'my toy train' collection so for first time in a long long time fired up the NCE and ran some old CIE trains hauled by kit bashed 121s pre MM, hauling a variety of kit bashed CIE era stock, all from the CIE black'n'tan era (1961-1978), with one hybrid IR invader lacking tippex. 6 Quote

All the BR big four rolling stock is now gone, its all black'n'tan and orange, no more GWR, LMS, LNER. 3 4 Quote

Noel Posted April 24, 2023 Author Posted April 24, 2023 Some CIE era trains on the move. How on earth will I get enough poetic license to run 22k along side these? May need a Tardis. 6 1 Quote

Noel Posted March 2 Author Posted March 2 While taking a photo of old Tri-ang class 37 for Derek today, I snapped this cluster of my 121 models. 127 in desperate need of some weathering. Noel Posted Tuesday at 10:22 Author Posted Tuesday at 10:22 Kingsbridge is being dismantled and going into hibernation storage in a shed for a year or two. Track will need to be relayed and ballasted. The original peco foam underlay started to perish, so difficult decision decided to store and will work on individual baseboards relaying track and ballast. In the mean time Gort will move into the layout room for its extension works, and in time Kingsbridge will eventually return with sealed base boards and ballasted track on top of two layers of closed cell 3mm foam for sound insulation. The old Peco foam underlay was fab for quiet running, but aside from not looking as good as ballasted track it started to perish due age, UV, etc. Out with the old in with the new. One of the six baseboards in storage in shed. First jobs was stip the layout of unfixed scenics, buildings, etc, un-plug wiring, lift short baseboard track joins. Looking forward to working on the Gort extension in comfort indoors with a bit of heating (ie 4 additional baseboards to WMRC specifications). So no running sessions for a few weeks or perhaps even a month. I may spend more time at the work bench on some long delayed kit bashing projects, some resprays, weathering recent IRM stock, RPSI maroon GSV (BCK variant), diy coach lighting, or just get bored and drive trains on Gort. 7 2 Quote
