Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 True man, will be interesting to see. Will have to take a trip out when it escapes onto the mainline for a video if it is. Hopefully Dave will be secure the photo and share it. Also think it would be interesting if the new logo is being put on a 35 year old freight loco before anything else! Good to see money still being spent on the 071s. Airbrushes at the ready! I hope to get down in a coupe of weeks so will be in touch before then to see what suits you and Bren. As for the airbrush its always at the ready Bud. . I think another day in Kildare is needed. Quote

Barl Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Mk4 driving trailer 4003 is supposedly carrying the new markings. Yes I saw it this morning, sitting outside Inchicore, the Intercity markings looked much better! Quote
driver301 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I'm not the biggest fan of this logo either however I recall feeling exactly the same when the IE plug/socket logo replaced the IR point logo back in 1994. For now I will wait & see if grow to like it! Anyone got any photographs of it on IE rolling stock yet? Quote
Blaine Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I don't know Bud it's impossible to tell until we all see a photo I'm just guessing. Who's up for an SAS photo mission to Inchacore Good luck getting in!! Quote

Warbonnet Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 077 is the loco in question I believe. Quote
WRENNEIRE Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 any pics? Saw some pics last night My spy is afraid of his gick to give them to me The yellow front looks massive! Might have some eventually but I reckon they will be in the public domain by then. Quote
BosKonay Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Sounds very 'british' in scheme... wonder how a 201 would look in it too... Quote

The current freight livery falls down because of the big yellow front in my eyes. Looking forward to seeing it! Quote
WRENNEIRE Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Massive as in the dogs ... Very 112 ish, maybe a tad bigger but similar in style etc Quote

Irish railway news also reports a loco has been painted. Quote

RedRich Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Good call rich, I think you're right. It's a bit small to see on my phone. I was looking at it on a laptop Fran and it wasn't obvious immediately. Rich, Quote
RedRich Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Sharp eyes Rich - the I of the IE is indeed Green in that pic As I said to Fran Stephen, it took a few look's to spot it. If it goes ahead as it is in Ed's post it doesn't look bad at all. It could be a plan in the making for the retailers if MM don't decide to produce it in the future. Rich, Quote

jhb171achill Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Three pin plug logo rather than that new thing? Quote
Riversuir226 Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 If this is the new scheme, I really like it. It seems to bring out the best in the 071's. Plus it doesn t seem to be to hard for us to model;) Quote
Blaine Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Blaine would did you get that drawing from ?????????? Now that would be telling (thanks Mr Zuckerberg) Quote
minister_for_hardship Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) Three pin plug logo rather than that new thing? Thank God. The paint suppliers have had some GSR battleship grey on special offer. Apart from the silly Euro numbering (what's the point, it's not as if it going to run on the Continent) it's not bad.
