JHB, only a few wrong way up images so I think that the pints are well deserved. Don't know about the singing though!!

That old model is broadly based on a generic GSWR 0.6.0 like a J15. The upside down ones are 51J's.

Having a go at a 42' bogie flat from Studio Scale Models/Weshty. May have bitten off more than I can chew but I ll give it a whirl

I have one here myself Rich that I'm hoping to get to at some stage so I'm watching this with interest to see how you find it

Not quite perfect but I am happy enough for a first try. Nice kit. A couple of the side bracket block dooffers to go back on and a quick spray . Oh and I'll need to grab some NEM couplers.

Thanks folks. Hi David. I just used super glue but the gel type which is a great invention! I would admire anyone who had the skill to solder a brass kit!

Seems OK over the points but is jumpy on a short curve . I will look at the bogies and check theyre level.

Some personal communications from forum members suggested that they can be tricky to get running properly. I suspect the slightest torque over the length of this chassis or imprecise bending would cause issues with smooth running. Getting a short rake made by a forum member first before attempting to match that myself. Looks very well, nice kit.

My passengers must be freezing. I have a total lack of gen vans on the railway, so Im going to rectify that over the next few weeks. Starting with an attempt at a mk1 van conversion with this old Hornby. Bogies are wrong. This will supply the juice to my cravens.

RR, Try a 1 - 2mm Washer between the Bogie and the Frame, I find it Improves the running. The brass ones supplied enables the bogie to catch the side frames.

Nice work too. I would have me fingers stuck together no doubt.

Thanks for the bogie flat info George. Thanks for the gen info Dive. Are they the same on both sides of the gen van do you know?
