These wagons and the models are iconic and it takes a huge amountt of knowledge researching as many pics of wagons as possible as they all weather differently. To still have the drive to put the same amount of time and effort into the last one as the first says a lot about Jason. It takes time to reach this level and some of us never will.

Fresh to the bench this morning is my 15 Ballast Wagons and 2 Plough Van's.

I've started by applying a wash to the hopper. This is to create the build up of dirt and streaking in certain areas. This process will be used on each wagon.

I have also removed the loads for a little cosmetic work.

Another little project on the go at the moment are these Cravens, which I picked up second hand back in 2018. The guy I bought them from had already painted the interiors and installed lighting.

Over the past couple of evenings, I've carried out some small repair jobs which needed doing, and I've also added some passengers.

Once everything is put back together, I'll finish off by applying some light weathering.

I hadn't realised how bad a condition the wheels where in, until I had removed them from the coaches. As you can see, they were absolutely caked in residue from glue that had been used by the previous owner.

Not good with general running, let alone when you're relying on pickups to light the coaches. Anyway, I've given them a good clean, which should improve future running.

Great idea to repaint the interiors. The plastic blue fisher price seating looked awful. This is a great improvement.

Hello Jasón my man, & having just looked over this tread from Oct 2015 to date, I have to say if I haven’t said this before, you’re expertise in railway modelling has taken the word “ modelling “ to a whole new level, your skills at making models, building models,, shaping these items & of course weathering these models has taking the modelling World to a whole new level, I can live with this if you live in my country...,😇   very well done sir,

I've spent the last number of weeks working away on this signal box, in between my current projects sitting on the bench.

The balcony and steps combo wasn't my cup of tea, so some chopping, sanding and gluing was required.

Along with that, I also added lighting and various bits and bobs to the interior.

Then, some painting and weathering to finish.

Another batch of wagons have joined the ever growing queue awaiting weathering on the bench.

First up, are my fourteen IRM 42' flats with BELL containers.

20200822_115510.thumb.jpg.4a37327b1f96b1ba52d965f5cde5f1a9.jpg

And along with them, are my ten Tara's.

20200822_143653.thumb.jpg.120e1cda04c87b1e08c2b36deb24b0b8.jpg

Thought I'd ease myself in. So I've began by painting the green detailing on the bogies, just to dull things down a little.

Expected completion date for both projects, September 2025 :)

Evening guys,

It's been a while since I updated the thread. The combination of being just too busy, and not really being arsed, has resulted in a very quiet workbench of late.

Over the past month or so, I've got back amongst my mound of projects that need sorting, and below, is one of those stop-start weathering jobs which has been dragging on forever.

It's nice to finally put these to bed.
