snapper Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Aha, so maybe you dont need to pay to see them! Or am I being automatically being logged in as I do have an account? Possibly, but I don't have an account and I can see them
Warbonnet Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Possibly, but I don't have an account and I can see them makes sense so! Cheers snapper. Wonder if it's getting the interior fitted out in Belfast? Report on WNXX says it's the first coach finished anyway.
StevieB Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Just watched one of the videos - class 60 with 21 bogie timber wagons, not the usual 071 plus 12! Stephen
Weshty Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Whats with the bogies? Those are MB4 (Craven types) whereas the MK3 coach uses MT10s.
Warbonnet Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Whats with the bogies? Those are MB4 (Craven types) whereas the MK3 coach uses MT10s. Accommodation bogies to move around the works as they're narrow gauge Des.
Noel Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 http://www.wnxx.com/15/1510/201015/7104%20Kilmarnock%20151015%20Baz7382%20(2).jpg Yes looks a little like a plasticard modification to a model alright. I doubt the paint scheme is the final finish with lining, stripes and yellow flashes on the end of the ons coach yet to be painted. At €11k for a four night trip for a couple it appears to be more expensive than a suite on premium cruise line for an entire cruise.
WRENNEIRE Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Might be changed over there for non 5'3" running?
steventrain Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 216 update - See Irish past and present railway on facebook.
Warbonnet Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 216 update - See Irish past and present railway on facebook. No update really. It's still green in the ropey pic that's been put up.
roxyguy Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Pics of refurbished coaches here now http://www.independent.ie/life/travel/travel-news/first-look-at-irelands-orient-express-carriages-in-refurbishment-34304841.html
BosKonay Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Dare I say it looks stunning! An Irish Orient Express Who'll be the first to reproduce that in OO
hurricanemk1c Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Not exactly first look - Chris Playfair has been out and about for a while getting shots of them: Ah well, better late than never for the Indo. and I'm not quite sure about the opening picture! Bets this will be in service before the last refurbished DD set?
Noel Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Dare I say it looks stunning! An Irish Orient Express Who'll be the first to reproduce that in OO Who will be the first on this forum to travel on it?
jhb171achill Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 I think I know (though it's not me!).....
Junctionmad Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 I know some very scenic lines remain in Scotland. But have we much in Ireland remaining.
jhb171achill Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Imagine the Belmond train travelling to Valentia, Clifden, Clonakilty, Achill, or Bundoran!
Barl Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 This loco is outside the main shed at Inchicore this morning if there's any photographers around.
jhb171achill Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Well, the Wanderer won't be there - he's in Angleterre, where I hope to have a pint with him once I get this plane....
Railer Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Hopefully she gets out to stretch her legs after 6 years of storage. A few IWT runs should do nicely.
jhb171achill Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I suspect there'll be a few surprises with where it turns up during tests!
Railer Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I suspect there'll be a few surprises with where it turns up during tests! She is going to have to make it up to Belfast at some point to test out the TPWS systems and possibly collect the Mk3 stock while it's at it.
jhb171achill Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Exactly what I was thinking, Railer! (She's not fitted for the "Enterprise", though?)
Railer Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 (She's not fitted for the "Enterprise", though?) Not with the way the sets were upgraded recently, no.
jhb171achill Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Below is a pic of it. It's in all-white livery, in a snowstorm....... What ye think of that!
GSR 800 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) Below is a pic of it. It's in all-white livery, in a snowstorm....... What ye think of that! Although it's a nice livery..it will never catch on, and it will weather terribly.... Edited February 5, 2016 by GSR 800
Noel Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Below is a pic of it. It's in all-white livery, in a snowstorm....... What ye think of that! Sorry I can't see it in here - too much snow!
Broithe Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 Below is a pic of it. It's in all-white livery, in a snowstorm....... What ye think of that! It's bloody upside-down again!
ttc0169 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Photo taken by Chris Playfair. <img src="http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=22626"/> And one from me.....
BosKonay Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Considering the 'decals' have been mounted, it looks 'finished'?
Broithe Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 Considering the 'decals' have been mounted, it looks 'finished'? Mmm, not my favourite scheme...
