Warbonnet Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Overall it looks a bit like a cross between the NIR 071s and SP "Bloody Nose" scheme. I think thats why I like it so much. Quote
heirflick Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 paddy nearly had the colour right in the pre production model of the 71's! Quote

heirflick Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I don't know what to make of that livery!. me neither eamonn, i think the livery will look better on the model rather than the real thing! red around the buffers would look nice...maybe... Quote
Broithe Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Perhaps if we got all the Mk3s back and painted them to match.. Quote
Deutschbahn Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Although if the mk3's came back you would have to deal with the hassle of no push pulls. Quote
thewanderer Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I didnt, I just want to be on the safe side. Hope you enjoyed it anyway. Did you have permission to post it? The cardinal Inchicore rule of photos / videos taken on the premises may not be used for publication / posting on the Internet without prior permission. Quote
josefstadt Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Shows just how meaningless the logo is when they have to put the company name on the vehicles as well. Also, why did they need to put the logo twice on each side of 4003? Surely one larger logo centrally placed would have looked better (ignoring the crappy design of the logo). Quote
Deutschbahn Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Yes I did have permission from the person that showed me around the yard. I have been informed by fellow members of the forum that many people who have shared images before have had a lot of hassle since. I dont want any employees to get into trouble. Quote
BosKonay Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 At least the old IE 'meant' something and was an identifiable logo in it's own right. This one clearly needs the full name spelled out too? Quote
enniscorthyman Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I am having trouble trying to see this colour,as I am slightly colour blind,Gray being one colour I have trouble with.. Hence why I would never get a job with IE as a driver because I would fail colour test, darn it anyway. Quote

Blaine Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 They have started using the new logo on website and facebook With a photo of a Translink owned loco crossing a bridge in Northern Ireland Quote
kevrail Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I Know Mad or what. You thought they would have at least used a train with the new logo. Cheap marketing Quote
Killucan2 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 This is a company been watched spending wise, this time last year they needed a bail out of 36m!! M. Quote
Warbonnet Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 This is a company been watched spending wise, this time last year they needed a bail out of 36m!! M. Indeed, it begs the question why they went to a foreign country to take pictures of another railway's locomotive to pass off as their own! Money to burn! Quote
BosKonay Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Or why they'd change any branding at all?! Quote
kevrail Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 By the looks of things they just whipped the photo of the internet and shoved the new logo on top Quote
jhb171achill Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 why they went to a foreign country to take pictures of another railway's locomotive Ouch!!!!!!!!!! :-) Quote
thewanderer Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 At the end of the day some of the coaches in that rake are owned by Iarnrod Eireann, so quite entitled to use such a picture. Quote
BosKonay Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 ... and the Enterprise is the IE 'Flagship' as such Quote
jhb171achill Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Both companies (rightly) promote it as a joint service......... and maybe the loco is an IE one?? Quote
Warbonnet Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 why they went to a foreign country to take pictures of another railway's locomotive Ouch!!!!!!!!!! :-) My sarcasm knows no bounds Quote
ttc0169 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Rumour has it that 077 will be let loose on a load test on an IWT liner to Ballina next week sometime I'm told. Quote
