Kirley Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 Just installed some station lights and did a test in daylight, sorry for the poor clarity of the photos . The lights are by Langley Models and I have an entry in my Workbench on how to construction them.
BosKonay Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Now that is tasty looking!! The panorama is stunning! The building looks completely natural now, and the backdrop is beautifully blended with the scene!
Shinkansen Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Looks like an aerial shot from a helicopter! Station building and backdrop look the business:-bd
Broithe Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 An air of Ballybrophy with the Slieve Blooms behind...
Sulzer201 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 It looks so realistic - more amazing work.
RedRich Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 That is really great work Kirley. It's so atmospheric looking. It's taken a lot of planing and hard graft to get this far and it is really coming to life now. It's a credit to you. Rich,
scahalane Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 The lights add greatly to the atmosphere. Fantastic work all round.

heirflick Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 kieran, i would call in the the permenant way crew from IE to assist with he tunnell adjustments rather than see those beautiful huns shelved!
Hunslet 102 Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 The layout is looking great Kirley, love the Irish rural station scene with the sweeping backscene,it all looks so authentic, well done
Kirley Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 Progress continues around Kirley Junction Station area doing the scenics but it is slow work. As a diversion new Shale Wagons arrived at the weekend from Hidden Agenda and I had to show them off. The wagons are very well constructed and smooth runners. Here is a short video showing them and the area found Kirley Junction Station.
Grange Castle Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 What a layout, love it ! That backscene is fantastic.
Dave Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Wagons look amazing, Hidden Agenda does fantastic work. layout looks great
BosKonay Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 [video=youtube;o-vBolMo8_s] Absolutely stunning - you're making huge progress!
BosKonay Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Is it just me or is the video making anyone else a little dizzy?
wiggy Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Is it just me or is the video making anyone else a little dizzy? Yea it may have been taken with a phone or something like that. Its the codec or frame rate its using. Wiggy.
Warbonnet Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 YouTube now gives you an option to 'eliminate shaking' from your video and this is the result, ends up making you feel seasick. It can be turned off by the uploader too. I'd defo take the shaky camera over it!
BosKonay Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Ah that's it. I'd rather the shake it's messing te perspective.
Eiretrains Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Yes very nice video, very appropriate train for the Hunslet. Yes I think that sea-sick motion is caused by Youtube's anti-shake corrective, even one of my fairly steady videos youtube still made a mess of it, so I don't use it at all.

It can be turned off by the uploader too. I'd defo take the shaky camera over it! Goes to show there's no substitute for a decent tripod or shoulder mount when filming. For anyone using a smartphone, a mini tripod can be picked up on eBay for less than €7: http://is.gd/cYDPtZ And for anyone using an iPhone, I can't recommend the Filmic Pro app enough... a seriously powerful bit of kit that's well worth the (modest) price. I know of guys who've used it to record pieces for TV. Edited November 26, 2012 by Garfield
scahalane Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 The layouts coming together really well, keep the vids coming.

Thanks Warbonnet for the information, YouTube recommended I take the option to eliminate shaking which I did -Never again. As they say in this part of the world, "It was alright when it left here" (a Titanic quote). Can I take it down and reload it – my knowledge of the workings of YouTube is zero?
Weshty Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 I used the anti-shake for the Maedhbh's wheels video. Awful stuff altogether. Removed and reloaded it as soon as I could.

As they say in this part of the world, "It was alright when it left here" (a Titanic quote). Can I take it down and reload it – my knowledge of the workings of YouTube is zero? No problem, it offered it on my last video upload and I selected it, felt dreadful after watching it! You might be able to fix it if you go to the following; Log into youtube Go to 'video manager' find the video you want to fix and click on 'edit' Click on 'Enhancements' in the dark grey toobalr a 'stabilise' button should be on the right hand side of the page, you may be able to switch it off here. Hope that is of help!
Kirley Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 I tried the “revert to the original” button and have to wait to see if it restores the video to its original condition. thanks for the information.
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 I tried the “revert to the original” button and have to wait to see if it restores the video to its original condition.thanks for the information. If you go to the video editor and click the restore to original it will get rid of the anti shake. I used the anti shake on one of my 071 videos and didn't like it so I just restored it to original condition and it worked
Guest hidden-agenda Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Nice vid K and i love the Hunslet and ballast train.
