abaddon Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Hi abaddon & welcome to the site, lots of stuff going on here, tell me are the couplings on these sets HO or OO Yeah, sheesh, I intended to follow this up and then failed to do so. All I can do is accept my error and apologise profusely. It's standard Hornby OO. I will throw some pics if someone can identify the prefered resolution for here.
WRENNEIRE Posted October 28, 2014 Author Posted October 28, 2014 (edited) This was shown to me at the MRSI Show yesterday Missed a few hours sleep over it last night I had covered these items previously but it looks like this is the kosher packaging for the set, not the one I had thought was correct as these items have never been catalogued correctly Edited December 1, 2017 by WRENNEIRE
Warbonnet Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 The look on your face was akin to a little boy who Santa forgot to visit on Christmas morning Dave when you saw that.
WRENNEIRE Posted October 28, 2014 Author Posted October 28, 2014 Worst part Fran, was that I new both the vendor and the buyer, now ex pals of mine and also deleted from my ever dwindling Christmas card list
Broithe Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Worst part Fran, was that I new both the vendor and the buyer, now ex pals of mine and also deleted from my ever dwindling Christmas card list  ..moved onto that 'other' list..
WRENNEIRE Posted October 28, 2014 Author Posted October 28, 2014 One shot, BANG BANG Always liked that quote

WRENNEIRE Posted October 29, 2014 Author Posted October 29, 2014 (edited) Anyone notice this bad boy on MM's table at the MRSI Show? Edited December 1, 2017 by WRENNEIRE
heirflick Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Anyone notice this bad boy on MM's table at the MRSI Show? very very tasty
Noel Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 very very tasty Please forgive, but why tasty, is it not just the Galway mk2 livery EGV with an orange roof instead of black? The Galway livery like the original 201 livery never looked attractive (i.e. from a marketing point of view).
Noel Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 (edited) Just off the production line Very nice. Is this a new MM product or a respray? If the latter, hats off - excellent. Like the curtains. Edited October 29, 2014 by Noel
Warbonnet Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Anyone notice this bad boy on MM's table at the MRSI Show? Factory reject one off? You should've nabbed it to go with your one with the missing stripe!
WRENNEIRE Posted October 30, 2014 Author Posted October 30, 2014 He would not sell it Fran, it wasn't for the want of begging! Craven is a respray
Dunluce Castle Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 That re painted Craven is just amazing.
BosKonay Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 A work of art no less probably the best livery a craven yet carried?
WRENNEIRE Posted October 30, 2014 Author Posted October 30, 2014 Would have to say second best, I will always have a spot in my hard heart for the originals

WRENNEIRE Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 Sure is Paul, see the can of worms you opened
WRENNEIRE Posted November 19, 2014 Author Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) So all this palaver about crowd funding made me think of the A Class Here we have a Q Kit example, this is their first kit of the A Made from a very strong resin mix which is still tacky to the touch after all these years Anyone familiar with pre bubble wrap days will remember this protective wrap that was used in many of the Q Kits It disintegrates after a good few years and turns to mush when you try to remove it Edited December 1, 2017 by WRENNEIRE
minister_for_hardship Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 As rough as a badger's proverbial...
WRENNEIRE Posted November 19, 2014 Author Posted November 19, 2014 Funny enough Minister it was probably the best version of the A, leaves An Sionnach Airgeads version in the halfpenny place I willthrow up a pic of it beside the S/F one to highlight how good this one really is
WRENNEIRE Posted November 24, 2014 Author Posted November 24, 2014 (edited) B Class Came with a motor & gearbox Edited January 4, 2018 by WRENNEIRE
WRENNEIRE Posted November 27, 2014 Author Posted November 27, 2014 (edited) Q Kit C Class This one came with an Athern chassis This one is from another Kit First issue resin kit Resin has still not cured Edited December 1, 2017 by WRENNEIRE
Warbonnet Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Sticky fingers! Shape wise I still reckon it's better than silver fox; well one that isn't sticky!
BosKonay Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Did Q produce later non-sticky resin versions? I've two 'UFO' C class in the attic that are resin with brass details, but definitely not Silverfox, nor sticky!
Garfield Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 I think they also produced a whitemetal version, although I'm not sure whether that was before or after the resin one (gut instinct says before)...
