Warbonnet Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Agree with above. Then when that's done you could go back in time?
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Agree with above. Then when that's done you could go back in time? He's got the pony tail cut off Fran so already he's left the 60's =))
WRENNEIRE Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 There have been over 43,000 hits on this thread and I get 3 replies, Come on people let me hear whats wanted
Robert Davies Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Regarding content Dave, you're doing such a good job (sincerely) it almost seems heretical to to make a suggestion! Somewhat oddly, I have the most trouble sorting out the more recent stuff from Paddy, like, say the 2d coaches. Just know that you have at least one supporter of your work on this side of the water! Regards, -Rob 1
201bhoy Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I tihnk it would make sense to keep going and then go back to the 70s when you're done! This is a superb thread, really interesting!
BosKonay Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 The info is fantastic wren we're all just to dazzled to type
WRENNEIRE Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 Robert PM me your email and I can send you my MM list of models and date of issue etc
Tarabuses Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 It's a pity Paddy wouldn't update the list on his website.
WRENNEIRE Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 I keep my version of it updated if you want one, Drop me a PM
Kirley Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Dave please continue with the MM list bringing it up to the present time then you can go onto the Q Kits, MIR Collection etc. I would also like a copy of your list but you don't answer your PM's!
BosKonay Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 There is a near complete list here http://irishrailmodels.com/category/rtr-models/coaches/murphy-models-coaches/ (Compiled with no small efforts from Wrenn !)
WRENNEIRE Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 Dave please continue with the MM list bringing it up to the present time then you can go onto the Q Kits, MIR Collection etc. I would also like a copy of your list but you don't answer your PM's! Nothing in my inbox K, when did you PM me?
WRENNEIRE Posted April 6, 2013 Author Posted April 6, 2013 26th Feb! PM sent K Cant find your Feb one?
Railer Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Could you please continue on from the 141/181's as I think it would be better than jumping back in time. Cravens and Mk2's next please as it would be a nice seen the next release of Mk2's is due shortly I'd like to see the Cravens and Mk2s up next. Especially the Mk2Ds are they are getting as rare as hens teeth. The Cravens without orange stripe on top are very scarce too.
BosKonay Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 I would have thought the Cie livery cravens would be more available ?
Railer Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 I would have thought the Cie livery cravens would be more available ? The were 3 in the CIE livery and I believe they were released later than the 5 later livery Cravens. I wouldn't mind picking up a few of the CIE ones if they show up anywhere. Rails shefield seems to be the only place to have them in stock.
WRENNEIRE Posted April 7, 2013 Author Posted April 7, 2013 (edited) So... Jan 09 saw the launch of the much heralded Craven coach 300 of each coach produced MM1508, Snack car, MM1521 & MM1523 Standards. 1508 1521 1523 Edited December 2, 2017 by WRENNEIRE

cg-antrim Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Just took delivery of my LIMA 201 River Boyne 207 yesterday. But I've noticed that the English "River Boyne" is matched at the other end of the loco with the Irish "Abhainn na Life". Is this a rarity or was the entire run of this model mis-named in the two languages?
heirflick Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Just took delivery of my LIMA 201 River Boyne 207 yesterday. But I've noticed that the English "River Boyne" is matched at the other end of the loco with the Irish "Abhainn na Life". Is this a rarity or was the entire run of this model mis-named in the two languages? all the 207's had the same error, it was the nicest of all the liveries though!
cg-antrim Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 all the 207's had the same error, it was the nicest of all the liveries though! Thanks - I must check to see if the real one has the same error! I'm researching what I could run with it in terms of passenger stock. I was surprised to find 207 in Enterprise livery in Cork ( ). I assume it was never on the Galway / Sligo lines. I commuted from Portarlington into Dublin for several years but don't ever remember seeing it there (though I was mostly travelling in the dark and wasn't really looking out for it). Could I get away with Mark 2 coaches? If I need Mark 3, does anyone have experience of using the vinyl overlays, which I could use to update a few old Hornby Mark 3s? thanks.
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 (edited) @ cg-antrim The old hornby mk3s are the wrong length. As for the vinyl over lays I personally don't like them Edited April 12, 2013 by Anthony
WRENNEIRE Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 Craven not even mentioned once! Stay with the program people
Weshty Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Cravens launched FOUR years?? Time flies. Nice shots Dave.
Blu Bianco Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Great pic of the Craven, Dave. They really do make a striking model and brings back many memories of journeys in them. Four years old? You wouldn't think it but then.........

WRENNEIRE Posted April 24, 2013 Author Posted April 24, 2013 (edited) Been busy over the last week girls but now back to class: April '09 saw the next release of Cravens and again 504 of each model produced 1529 1533 1544 Edited December 2, 2017 by WRENNEIRE 1
burnthebox Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Great stuff Dave, love those pic's, what are they costing now,
RedRich Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 I firmly believe that the Craven models are one of if not the best coaches ever. When you look at the numbers within the class and their geographical location it seems amazing that we have them as models. I prefer them to a MK11 or MK111 any day. Rich,
Guest hidden-agenda Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 There's at least two. Replies seem hardly necessary - it would be rather like Moses scratching something on a tablet to leave on Mt Sinai... If Moses was a model railway enthusiast he would a few rakes of cravens (handy for GAA specials and religious events).
WRENNEIRE Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 (edited) December 09 saw the launch of the early liveried Cravens 1149 First Class, 1504 & 1515 Standards The usual 300 of each produced but only 3 coaches in this livery My favourite coach! 1149 1504 1515 Variation in box colour Edited August 10, 2021 by WRENNEIRE
Kirley Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Thanks Dave for tearing yourself away from your layout building to keep this series going.
