Evening All,  could anyone please tell me what the new Dublin city Traffic Management System involves, as can I drive from the red cow down past Heuston station along the quays, past Connolly station then to the show, or are you diverted some other way of would it just be easier taking the M50 northbound then doubling back into the City, hope this makes sence, thanks lads 👍.

If you're planning on driving Google Maps has been updated to reflect the changes - just plug in your starting point and the destination for route options and journey times: https://www.google.com/maps

You'll find full details of the traffic measures under the Traffic Plan here: https://www.dublincity.ie/residential/transportation/city-centre-transport-plan-2023/dublin-city-council-transport-plan-faqs

Also, a word of warning: the Dublin City Marathon is on Sunday the 27th. So driving through the city will involve road closures. More here: https://irishlifedublinmarathon.ie/traffic-information/

Parking an issue and no public transport... creative thinking necessary here! I will have a car containing self, another family member and a toddler* in a buggy too.......

(* Yes, he is being suitably brainwashed already. He was at the Model Engineers at Marlay Park yesterday, and at 2 1/2 is aware of the difference between the Enterprise, a Dart, and a 29....)

any place where parking is possible at any of the stations on the Dart?

Don't forget no Darts north of Connolly - there will be parking locally though, obviously dont block driveways etc. Or park at Red Cow, Luas into the city centre and bus from there

Thanks very much Flying Snail for taking the time to reply, it was very helpful and much appreciated.👍 looking at Google maps, which I never thought to do in the first place, the parking does seem very limited and I couldn't see much local parking, also after driving three hours from Kerry getting the Luas to the City centre then a bus followed by doing all that to Get home, does seem to look like a bit of an ordeal. PLEASE no-one take this the wrong way, it's just my initial observations and if anyone has any solutions (except stay at home then) for close by parking I'm all ears. Thank you.

I wasn't aware there was any closures planned on the Dublin to Cork line for the October bank holiday weekend?

There's a closure between the Cork side of the tunnel and Mallow this coming weekend (19th and 20th) but bus transfers will be in place.

Yera thankfully looking at the circular there is not as much disruption as I thought

I'm glad it was helpful John. I'll be driving in to it along the N7 too and I plan to take the M50. As for parking - the school is beside a residential area, and its the weekend, so parking in one of the adjacent housing estates should be fine so long as you follow Blaine's advice and you don't block driveways etc.

One vague possibility might be to park in the public car park opposite Malahide station and get the 102 bus to Sutton from there?

It would be worth enquiring if the car park at Clontarf Rd. Dart Station will be open despite the fact there are no Dart services (over 100 parking spaces). Yes it is a little stretch of the legs up the Malahide Rd to Mt Temple but for anyone taking the Dart that would probably have been the best station to go to anyway.  I don't advise attempting to park on adjacent roads , they are pretty congested already.

As I recollect, there were about 60 or so parking spaces on the campus of Mt Temple, has this been curtailed due to the commencement of construction works which also seems to have contributed to closure of the Howth Road entrance?

I'd say the exhibitors will need most of those.

The current Mount Temple car parking spaces, which are accessed off the Malahide Road, wont be affected by the construction of the new school building. I understand the main contractor has moved some plant and machinery onto the school site beside the old squash club via the Howth Road entrance, which is where construction traffic will enter and exit.

I believe that some former pupils at the school have put together a little song inspired by those seeking a parking space….’I still haven’t found what I’m looking for’…..

Anyone find out if Clontarf DART station car park is open or not.

I tried to check online but it only says the station is closed.

Doesn't say anything about the car park ?

Tony.

Unfortunately I’ll probably have to give it a miss this year if there is a parking issue. Sounds like the new venue will be a great improvement in terms of size, and circulation space instead of small little classrooms of years gone bye. Hope folks have a great weekend and enjoy the show.

Thank You Kindly for sharing your outlook. I'm sure everyone else will manage and will enjoy the show.

As one of the shows organisers can you kindly tell me what the parking issues are please?

With regard to parking at the show we have just finished negotiations with Dublin Fire Brigade
who will now allow us to use the parking facilities at their OBI Training facility just opposite Mount Temple
Great work by 2 of our members in arranging this, Brendan Kelly & Eamonn Greville
Please use this car park if travelling to the show as parking at the school is limited and needed for wheelchair vehicles etc
Access via Malahide Road
D09 EW70 should get you there
