All those baby GMs at €300 buy it now seem to be gone. Prices just keep going up and up.

ARGH, have wanted one since they came out however never got the chance being a snotty teenager and only getting back into things in my late 20's early 30's now.

I would find it very difficult to ever pay more than the price of a new 121 class for one of these ever.

as we all know you cant just stop at one either so that figure compounds 😅

that being said I cant see them not being re released at this stage. the demand is clearly there now more so than it will have been a few years ago. If paddy doesnt i dare say IRM will take the reigns at some stage and come out with their own variant.

IR Diesels were THE iconic thing for me on the railway growing up.

When the 141s came out, I was an infant!

Unfortunately, we won’t see the MM 141 ever again, due to it being wrapped up with Bachman. I’ve been looking for the Black n tan 141 for ages . A few pop on on Ebay now and again for ludicrous prices. A FAIR price for those models due to the demand would be €200-€230 range if there was any justice

I'm sure that IRM have had their own 071 and 141 ranges in stock the past year. They're just holding off on the release until the speculators (that's Murphaph and I, selling the same twenty locos to each other over and over again, earning commission from IRM) get the prices high enough for the release to go ahead. With all of the buyers frothing at the mouths, they'll sell out before the container is even opened.

Is this the most paid for a MM 111?

https://www.ebay.ie/itm/175115249790

€517 + shipping from the UK.

An 8208 in Enterprise livery went for €408 as well.

All those baby GMs at €300 buy it now seem to be gone. Prices just keep going up and up.

Put it this way, I got €0.17 interest from the PO for last year, ;Investment' in Irish Railway stuff gives a better return. Mind you can be burnt too.

8208, 400 slobs, A trip to the loft again so.  should have that too still. Sold one one 2014, 140 notes A Loss.

It is getting crazy with the prices on eBay, I know everyone is entitled to ask what they want for their models an it looks like there are people out there that will pay them prices, as long as people will keep buying models at crazy prices, the more and more we will see of prices going up. I was going to start looking for 3 071s and trying to keep an eye out for them, I wonder what prices they would command at the moment on eBay.

I currently have an 071, No. 080 listed in classifieds. https://irishrailwaymodeller.com/classifieds/item/9-murphy-models-071-class-loco/

Hi George,

I have thought of that and I am also keeping a thought on it. The ones listed are in IE and Supertrain. I have to do some research when I finish my working day later on to see if I am willing to renumber a loco or not.

Good to see these listed
Seller started at €1
The buyer will now show what they are worth or what they are willing to pay
The Enterprise is doing a lot better than I would have expected

I'm confused...

Are they MM, Lima, Bachmann or IRM?

And when did IRM release 201's?

The sly dogs!

There's a hint in the title DJ
Read it slowly next time........

I'm seeing MM, Lima, Bachmann and IRM in the title of each loco...

EDIT: I'm reading them more and more slowly each time but the titles aren't changing...

What kind of witchcraft is this?

Should have gone to Lidl, you would have got a 2 man canoe.

6 Cravens on EBay, all sold for between £101 - £142 each.

Wow that's mad Ted. I bought most of our Cravens for €35ea only 5 years ago. How times have changed. How come the demand has increased so much these past 3 years? Have that many people taken up the hobby (ie Irish scene), or returned to the hobby in the past 3 years?  Its kind of nuts seeing blue NIR 071s going for silly money now when they were available on retailers shelves for €160 only six years ago. How fast things can change.

Yep. Loads of us have returned to the hobby after decades long hiatuses only to realise that Irish stuff was actually available! I got my Cravens "at the last minute" so to speak from Chris Dyer in the summer of 2020 still at the normal RRP. They were no longer to be found anywhere else at that stage so I was delighted to get them. I'm even more delighted now!

Tks 4F but LIDL, No thanks!! Kayaks There for a bath really.

Canoes are totally Different. try doing 30 miles in  a day in the Lidl one!!

In the late 60s, I did most of the Thames in a giant two-man fibreglass kayak. It was a real 'lump', but it was OK once you got going and we were going downstream. We had borrowed the vessel, and the name of the owners was emblazoned down both sides - RAF Transport Command - I doubt that we had the Russians worried and I never spotted anybody trying to take covert photos of the internal technology.

Saw that one for €700...

Shocking price, but as @murphaph pointed out, "good" based on the standards set by today's gougers.

€700 means €220 for the loco and €120 each for the four sets of Keg Liners...

https://touch.adverts.ie/models/models-railways/26078965

Few "bargains" on eBay for comparison...

Various 141's / 181's at €300 each:

https://www.ebay.es/sch/kellystownbank/m.html

€360 plus shipping:

https://www.ebay.es/itm/265527750062

€390 plus shipping:

https://www.ebay.es/itm/224834939186

€400 plus shipping:

https://www.ebay.es/itm/115237546300

Fancy a coach or two?

€150 each plus shipping:

https://www.ebay.es/itm/144410223770

https://www.ebay.es/itm/144410223744

Not having a go at any of the sellers, it's a free market, but personally I find the hyper inflated prices shocking.
