scahalane Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Looking good Eamonn, you got the right tones to it. I think the weathering powder might be a little too much but the washes look spot on. Quote

Sulzer201 Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Great work Eamonn, the tankers look very dated and realistic. Quote
Geoff Johnston Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 They look first class Eamonn...hopefully not long until we see them running on the layout... Quote
jhb171achill Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Excellent weathering on the fence too! :-) Quote

ttc0169 Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Very realistic weathering- nice one Eamonn, well done. Quote

Weshty Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Those are filthy, durty, greasy looking wagons there Eamon. Well done Quote

JasonB Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Nice job Eamonn, might try a couple of the An Post vans myself it looks great.Good to see your work back where it belongs Quote
Georgeconna Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Great Effort Eamonn. The oily look really sets it off Have a look at the Humbrol tutorials on the weathering powders, they have 4 videos, you might pick up some tips for the next lot! the an post Van looks great.. Quote
Weshty Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 The An Post van is nice, but the detailing on the Bedford is pure class! More photos please Quote
enniscorthyman Posted May 22, 2016 Author Posted May 22, 2016 Thanks for the comments guys. And thanks George for the link to weathering video. I have just started building a prestwin chassis for a 20f Bell. I have another nearly finished, with kadees to be added and some minor bits. Quote
jhb171achill Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Does anyone know why Bell containers had different coloured roofs? Was it just different livery variations, or to denote different contents? Quote
JasonB Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Nice job Eamonn,i picked up a mixture of 20 and 40' bell's at the raheny show the year before last and still have nothing to put them on,seeing that i really have to get around to getting some 42' flats for them they look so good. Quote
Sulzer201 Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Great work here Eamonn that wagon and box look the part. Quote
Weshty Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Does anyone know why Bell containers had different coloured roofs? Was it just different livery variations, or to denote different contents? White painted roofs act as an effective solar reflector to reduce the internal temperature from daytime mean of 50c to 38c. See section 1 of http://www.tis-gdv.de/tis_e/containe/klima/klima.htm Quote

enniscorthyman Posted May 30, 2016 Author Posted May 30, 2016 Just started another an post model with a Iveco/Ford Oxford Die cast getting a scratch built tail lift, and still a good bit of painting to be done. Made a start on SF 001 class body which is getting it's SSM brass detail. Finally MM 203 was aquired last week and she is a nice machine -but god is it hard to get that front skirt in place on the detailed end. Quote
Kirley Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Lots going on there Eamonn, how many A Classes have you now? Quote
enniscorthyman Posted May 30, 2016 Author Posted May 30, 2016 This is only the second A class I have Kieran. Was hoping Mr Murphy would do a really good one. Quote
Noel Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 This is only the second A class I haveKieran. Was hoping Mr Murphy would do a really good one. Or more likely perhaps IRM? Quote
Kirley Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Thanks Eamonn, for some reason I thought you had a collection of them. Good luck with your upgrading. Quote
enniscorthyman Posted May 31, 2016 Author Posted May 31, 2016 Or more likely perhaps IRM? A good model of the 001 class would be fantastic. Quote
enniscorthyman Posted June 7, 2016 Author Posted June 7, 2016 New to my an Post fleet is this Ford/Iveco lorry with scratch built tail lift. The Wills kit PO is getting some repair work for the new layout Quote
