patrick Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Nice but you can't just post a picture showing such nice grain wagons without telling us more about them!
enniscorthyman Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Very nice, and I love the wall mounted signal.
richrua Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Nice . Great atmosphere and a refreshing change of rolling stock. I must finish my wooly with decals, I could run a similar mixed train
Kirley Posted March 5, 2017 Author Posted March 5, 2017 A video of some Goods and Passenger Working on Kirley Junction. 1
Noel Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 (edited) Wonderful rolling stock on a fabulous layout. I love your goods train formations. The bullied heating van looks great, spotted the nice detail inside the corridor connectors. The 141 weathering is my cup of tea. What chasss is the lovely green A class running on? Edited March 5, 2017 by Noel
burnthebox Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Absolute mega layout, detailing perfection...& running trains too boot..Awsome
Kirley Posted March 6, 2017 Author Posted March 6, 2017 What chasss is the lovely green A class running on? Thanks Noel, there are two Hornby Class 55 power bogies under her.
Glover Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 I love that goods shed Kirley; looks very MGWR? I seem to remember a photo showing a signal attached to a goods shed, possibly on the Sligo line; Longford perhaps? Cheers, Glover
Kirley Posted March 6, 2017 Author Posted March 6, 2017 I love that goods shed Kirley; looks very MGWR?I seem to remember a photo showing a signal attached to a goods shed, possibly on the Sligo line; Longford perhaps? The Goods Shed is based on the one at Clonmel with a few adaptions to suit my layout.
Kirley Posted March 10, 2017 Author Posted March 10, 2017 BUT 700 Series Railcar in action. I have been building these since October 2016, relieved to see them finished. Still to build coaches to go with them, including a Diner and Brake. The K15 coach is borrowed from my AEC Set.
Noel Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Well done Kieran. I love the automatic uncoupler at 14 seconds in, and especially the invisible 'tractor beam' that pulls the coaches back to the mother ship railcar. Impressed with all the native NI stock you build for yourself. Looks really well.
jhb171achill Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Just when you think that Kirley can't surpass himself........................................... W O W ! ! ! !
Glover Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 This must rate as some of the best ever modelling seen on this site, especially when you bear in mind that the starting point is a set of basic brass etches. Having built (just) two coaches from Worsley Works etches, I can begin to appreciate just how much hard work was involved here. The finish is superb. And to think all of this was achieved in less than two months; amazing! Glover Ps: thanks for the response re the goods shed and the signal attached to it. 1
Kirley Posted April 6, 2017 Author Posted April 6, 2017 BUT 900 Series Railcars in action. The 700 Series also make a brief appearance.
Kirley Posted April 9, 2017 Author Posted April 9, 2017 It's 1959 and CIE are still struggling to re livery the Rolling Stock they received after the split up of the GNR. At this time it was not unusual to see mixed livery trains such as this BUT 700 Series Railcar set. 1
GNRi1959 Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Kieran, breathtaking stuff here that inspires us all. Your entire thread will serve as great inspiration for me over the weeks, months and years to come. Well Done.
BosKonay Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Kirley, your realism just keeps getting better and better - I had to double take that first photo wasn't the real thing!!
Noel Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Kirley, your realism just keeps getting better and better - I had to double take that first photo wasn't the real thing!! Agree, it is excellent. Reeks of real atmosphere. Superb job on the rolling stock. 1
richrua Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 The weathered track is mighty. Plus the railcars are so unique . Great.

Kirley Posted May 7, 2017 Author Posted May 7, 2017 Past and Present -on Kirley Junction [video=youtube;uUyVD-g1Q5M] 1
murrayec Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Lovely Kirley Great collection of stock and made by you own hands, proud man. I can see you were trying to get on the platform in the video.... Eoin
Mike 84C Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I like the on the platform sequence, very atmospheric. Definitely a fleet to be proud of. Mick
Noel Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 The green A class looked fab. Is that the one with two power bogies? What is the origin of the nice 'Ranks' wagons (i.e. kit, RTR, etc)?
