burnthebox Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Ebay for those who can do this, IRISH RAIL Mk 2 INTERCITY VINYL LIVERY OVERLAY PLUS TWO COACHES FOR CONVERSION. http://www.ebay.ie/itm/231625271450?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Quote
Dhu Varren Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 One technicality regarding these vinyl overlays, is that the toilet windows on the overlays do not match the toilet windows on the Airfix/Dapol Mk 2Ds. This is due to Irish Rail aircon coaches always being referred to as Mk 2Ds, when, in fact they are actually Mk 2Fs, which is what the overlays are. The main difference between a Mk 2D and a Mk 2F 2nd class coach, is that the 2D toilets are both on the same side, whereas the 2F toilets are on opposite corners, exactly like the real IR coaches, and these vinyl overlays. Quote
RedRich Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 I think the Irish Aircon's are actually closer to the MK2 E's where the toilets are on opposite sides.. The roof hatches on the MK2 F's are larger than the C-D-E coaches. Rich, Quote

WRENNEIRE Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 £10 postage, = over €14 Last loco I posted ( an 071) cost €8.50 I really hate rip off postage In his other listings he has "rare" items, some of which are still available from SILVERFOX!!! Quote
Riversuir226 Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Totally agree Dave although the mir 201 is a bit rare especially in an unbuilt condition, i'd be put off by the postage. Which is pretty steep. Quote

I'm sure the quality is good, but for that price and esp. in O gauge, you would at least want motion that looks less toy-like. Quote
Garfield Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 I'm sure the quality is good, but for that price and esp. in O gauge, you would at least want motion that looks less toy-like. Basset Lowke models aren't known for their fine detailing - the 'look' of their products hasn't really changed much in over a hundred years - but they have a loyal legion of collectors. Quote
DiveController Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 (edited) That seems expensive, even for an O gauge model, isn't it? How much did the models fetch when they were produced I wonder? Edited August 19, 2015 by DiveController Quote
