Just received an email from Hattons informing me the these coaches have been cancelled from production.

I don't know why or if they have been postponed.

It might be hattons overestimating how many they were actually gonna get from MM…I have heard they have done that before

it’s either that or they were straight up canceled? I could have sworn there were pre production samples at raheeny last October

does anyone have a screenshot of the email?

I didnt actually realise we were waiting for additional mk2d's lol

Perhaps thats a good point as I dont recall hattons making ANY mention of the upcoming 141's, are they still listing the mk3's as upcoming?

They haven't removed the Mk2D's or Mk3's from their website, yet.

on track

I see what you did there!

😂

I wonder will it be Mk2D samples in Q4 or will it be the actual stock going on sale...

Gonna be a difficult Christmas even if it's one or the other, but both? Man, I wonder how much a nice tent costs.

Wonder if the MM mk3s are still on the radar?

Hopefully, somebody can pin Paddy down at the October show and get a feel for what's likely to happen, and when.

I'd guess that the Mk3's are an even bigger project than the Mk2D's, requiring a huge amount of research, design, and new tooling.

Almost sure that Paddy replied to an email of mine a year or so back, saying that he was looking into 21mm-friendly bogies, too.

EDIT:

Just to clarify, it was March 2021 when I received the email reply from Paddy Murphy, and he did not guarantee 21mm-friendly bogies.

His exact words were:

"We are looking at the bogie situation."

I don't want to make it sound like he guaranteed it or anything like that.

not so much of interest for my era but im sure this is of great interest…

Just got the same email.

Twelve models currently listed:

https://www.hattons.co.uk/stocklist/siteresults?search/scales/OO/brands/Murphy Models/sub-types/CIE Mark 2D/liveries/Irish Rail | Iarnród Éireann/stockstatus/all

Please, please, please don't let everything arrive all at once!

MM Mk2D's, MM 141 / 181 re-run, IRM Park Royals, Hatton's Genesis coaches, Heljan Mk2's...

Shit!

The photos on the Hattons site don't seem to match the descriptions. All are shown in CIE Supertrain livery but the descriptions are all for IR/IE liveries, no? Will any of this batch be in Supertrain livery does anyone know?

I'm not aware of any decorated samples having been shown off to the public so I'd go with the livery descriptions for now. Those photos on Hattons are of previous runs (Yes the photos are supertrain livery)

I have been under the impression it will be these two livery types (obviously the mkd versions)

I dont think theres more supertrain coming.

There were some on display at the Raheny show last October, definitely some with the 'IR' branding (like this one https://flic.kr/p/x8cNNf )

There were? Excellent!! Looking forward to getting a rake of these

TBH I don't remember seeing any Mk2Ds at the show,  I only remember the 141/181s ... they had my full attention 🤤🤤
