Please please please say yes, that they're moving to the UK, and away from the worst parcel distribution contractor on the PLANET!

I can just imagine a fully functioning website and parcels being posted with the correct documentation, it would be like a dream come true.

Probably rolling IRM more into the A/S brand to streamline things.

Most likely that IRM Rewards will be merged with A/S Rewards.

Archived A Class locos and Mk2 coaches have been stripped off the IRM website completely and are now only available on the A/S Archive section:

https://www.accurascale.com/en-eu/collections/the-archive

https://www.accurascale.com/en-eu/collections/coach-archive

Wagon archive is only live on the A/S website but the wagons haven't yet been stripped off the IRM website, and are visible by clicking the drop-down arrow beside the word "Wagons":

https://www.accurascale.com/en-eu/collections/wagon-archive

Onwards and upwards!

We’re doing some preliminary work in advance of streamlining the systems into a single backend. Shortly the irm website will merge ‘into’ the accurascale platform tho still retain its own identity etc and it means your irm account can be used to buy everything accurascale for next day delivery all vat paid in euros.

We’ll have more official updates in the coming days but in the mean time there’s no cause for concern and it allows us to improve efficiency and hopefully widen the customer base for irm items into the large and growing accurascale base.

Sounds like win-win-win, delighted to hear this!

Do we need to take any steps ourselves or will our IRM website credentials simply work on the AS website at some stage? I got an email but the token had expired by the time I clicked on the "activate account" link.

We'll send out account invites this morning which will work then and then we'll migrate over any points.

Makes me wonder why I bought these things at the full price.

Sorry you feel that way Colin, we've actually reduced the MOQ's with the factories on runs going forward, as the opens (and before that magnesites) were much slower movers than previous stock.

Hard to miss these prices, so I placed an order for some bits and pieces this morning. Dreading the credit card bill, reckon the envelope will be on fire when it's delivered. I need to get my story straight for the reasons/excuses.

In my mind the opens and the magnesites are in slightly different categories.

The magnesites are a very niche product, their use was very limited in both geography and time and would be hard for many Irish modellers to justify. I appreciate that they were a quick win based on the existing hoppers though. I bought some when they were last very cheap, but that was mainly with the idea of using the underframes for other things and I confess they're all still in the boxes at present.

The opens were long-lived, very numerous and distinctive, and found all over Ireland. Almost everyone modelling the 1940s-1990s period needs some of them. If one of the goals of bringing IRM and AS onto a common platform is to attract more people to Irish modelling, then they'll need some wagons to put behind their locos. If all the opens are sold out, there may be a disincentive to buy the new locos. There may be an argument that the most common wagons should be kept in stock, and re-run from time to time to keep it that way. The same could be said of the cement bubbles and the 42' flats - staples of the Irish scene for 50 years, very widespread and distinctive.

I bought some more opens recently, before the sale, and I'm struggling to justify any more given that I don't have a layout to run them on (yet) and I am expecting some H vans and hopefully some grain vans soon. Still slightly tempted by the bargains though!

I appreciate there are other concerns such as the cost of storage and the capital tied up in the unsold stock. It can't be an easy thing to manage. So thanks for your efforts and please keep up the good work!

I saw this sale was on yesterday afternoon. Ordered a couple of bits last night. They arrived to my dad's house (I work abroad) this morning. The money hasn't even left my bank account yet. Great service

Got a few more Bullieds at this excellent price. You can never have too many beet wagons!

That's true, I have a mix of beets and flying snail ones. I have ordered another snail pack, I think that the all over grey colour looks really good on these excellent models.

Yes - they spent most of their life like that, only brown in their very much later days (post-approx-1985-ish?).

No offence was intended.

None at all taken.

The simple fact is that the irish market remains small and while The amazing Mr Murphy could manage as a sole trader it won’t pay many wages let alone free up much capital for reinvestment.

This consolidation will help us fold the costs into the UK outline side which in turn will help us maintain Irish stock too.

I'll miss the IRM brand if it goes. When a pal from England told me that Accurascale was IRM's parent company, I took delight in pointing out that actually IRM was the older of the two. I'm going to need another angle for my one-up-manship now 🤔😋

However, I'm not surprised at the changes and for what its worth, I think coming together under the Accurascale flag makes sense. My own (very small) business once tied itself up in knots with multiple different brands and websites - bringing everything together under one identity and structure made a massive difference to us in terms of operations/corporate structure, brand awareness etc. ... and ultimately to our bottom line. Best of luck with the consolidation lads - anything the makes your business stronger is a good thing for both you and the Irish scene👍

Hi, the email link I got gives me the error 'Password reset error' - so I cannot login/create my Accurascale account.

Can a new email be sent out please?

I ordered at around the same time as you, aiming to bias the arrival to post-midday today, due to my non-attendance schedule here. Seeing your post, I found no evidence of an attempt yesterday and then got an email last night suggesting that today was the real target. This was handy as I was in and out all day yesterday, but could schedule my single one-hour absence today myself, so I did that quite early on, as I generally don't see many non-An Post deliveries round here before noon.

Obviously, I only really needed beets, but I wanted the magnestites as an example of what must surely be the prettiest RTR rolling stock ever produced.

They've just arrived now, as I was topping up my reserves in the house and the 'how to find me in the shed' map on the front door turned out not to be necessary.

I've promised myself the magnestites a few times in the past, but logistics have always got in the way - the real box is here now and the virtual box is finally ticked.

I, also, still 'have' the money, for now...

I keep looking at those last packs of grey corrugated wagons, and wondering whether I really want to move another 12 (or 24) buffers...

Of course you do.

What else would you be doing..?

Well, could be moving the buffers on the 3 new corrugated wagons I bought a few weeks ago, and on the 3 'LB' flats that IRM found at the back of the warehouse.

Or I could be moving the buffers on the 6 'H' vans I'm expecting to arrive soon.

At present, while I wait for my E class etch to arrive, I'm modifying a load of Arran's containers because they aren't precisely the ones I want to put on my wagons...

Sometimes I wish my OCD wasn't quite as extreme!

I do still have the IRM bargains web page open on another browser tab though, watching the numbers tick down. And I have EUR 37.30 worth of points...
