Georgeconna Posted October 19, 2014 Author Posted October 19, 2014 Hil Lads, Manage to grab a few more hours now that the kids are going to bed earlier so these are currently on the not much work bench at the moment. Should be kicking into 10 more bubbles next week, 2 MIR 071s and 2 huns.. The ballast wagons are shapeways and dapol chassis. Heavily weighed down the perform nicely, Even my Merchany Navy can pull em just about!! The dapol couplers are certainly not the best. Next up are the Familier MIR bubbles, There are the Resin Chassis versions, Just as about to finish them I discovered that the Waterslide decals were in fact Stickers for the Irish Cement Logos. Sneaky job to do that as you just could not use em, Decals were grabbed from Studio Scale Models range. Next up are a couple of Buses. A Ryan bus KS, A KC and a Van Hool from Jim Poots. Great kits these are in all fairness! Love doing them Finally a repaint and decaled Baccy 3F, Coal was still wet when I took the photo. Quote
RedRich Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Top class as usual George. The weathering on 101 looks very tasty. The Bus Kit's look great. Rich, Quote

Georgeconna Posted November 1, 2014 Author Posted November 1, 2014 Just trying to get these done for the IRRS show happening in Cork Monday night in the Metropole Hotel. These are MIR white metal Flats , Not a clinical as SSM effort for sure. Weighty though!! Every thing soldered on this bar the brass bearings for the wheel axles which were super glued on. Primer is on now so coupling hooks got on tonight if I don't fall asleep after marching around town today with the other 10k of people. Also a repaint into the Grey livery on one of the MM models 071s..number 078. Quote

richrua Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 The bogie flats are all the rage these days! Super paint job on the GM Quote
Georgeconna Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 finished the ol Flats, Test run as well and happy with em!! Found some Resin ones in the loft earlier so might make a go of those for comparison! The ol MIR Decals did their usual trick and disappeared into the Either when I put them into tepid water, It was like dealing with some 1000 year old Parchment, All the numbers just Crumbled up, Nearly took me an hour to put 12 decals one!! Quote
popeye Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Nice work George, put some containers on them to see how they look behind a loco. Quote
Weshty Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Cracking job on the 071 George. I like the older metal bogie flats as well, good weight and more "empty" looking. IRRS Monday? Oh to be there... Quote
Georgeconna Posted January 25, 2015 Author Posted January 25, 2015 Bit of a Retro Feel going on this month, Jut working on two MIR 071s in Resin and MIR 121 in white Metal, About 8 hrs so far spent on the 121 to get to this stage, All soldered together, I Need to drill out the Aperture for the LEDS on the 121 and install LEDs and DCC into the 071. Hope to have these done before the End of Feb. The 071 has hand rails scabbed off of Murphys 071 when I repainted some of them into Grey Scheme!! Stuff always come in Handy eventually. Quote
