NIRCLASS80 Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 If it runs as well as it looks what the hell difference does it make who produces it, just buy plenty and then the 121 will soon follow. Quote

Warbonnet Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 . Made in bachmann factory by bachmann people=bachmann quality. If you were to tell an American modeller that they'd laugh and shake their heads in pity and do their best to avoid them at all costs! Quote
David Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 If you were to tell an American modeller that they'd laugh and shake their heads in pity and do their best to avoid them at all costs! I clearly meant the same Bachmann that made the 141. Quote
BosKonay Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Paddy Murphy = God of Irish Models 071 pre-prod shots = oooohhhh baby!! 'nough said! Quote
Warbonnet Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I clearly meant the same Bachmann that made the 141. And I was clearly joking. Quote
WRENNEIRE Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Could be. Either way the whole debate over who makes it relates to the quality of the model(loco, not box). Made in bachmann factory by bachmann people=bachmann quality. Other than the quality of the model it makes no difference where it's made. There is no Bachmann factory Bachmann do not make anything The reference to Bachmann on the MM site was an error, it will be removed in the next few days Bachmann is an OEM of Kader, same as Murphy Models It actually does make a difference in that MM now owns the tooling, unlike when Lima produced the 201's and did not give the rights of the tooling to MM Quote
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) Here we go again the can of worms has now been opened ((( I would have to agree with Wrenn as after all he's friends with Paddy and has got his info from the horses mouth Edited August 8, 2012 by Anthony Quote
connollystn Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Does it really matter who produces the 071? I'm very happy with the quality of the 141/181 models I have, they're little beauties and run very smoothly. Like some of you, I'd have concerns about the quality of the product I'm buying, however, I've two left hands and I'm only too delighted that there are ready to run models of Irish rolling stock for me to purchase. BosKonay Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Just spotted a notice from Hattons: Murphy Models MM0112 Irish Class 071/111 diesel locomotive "Northern Counties" in NIR blue livery (as on loan to IE) £125.00 Our latest information from the supplier suggests this item will arrive with us on or after Thursday 1st November 2012 Whilst we are hopeful this information is accurate, manufacturer lead times are frequently prone to be delayed. This information is to be used as a guide only. We hope that this email has been useful. Quote
FrankS Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Hi Guys, Have just received a notice from Hatton's that they have been advised delivery of NIR # 071/111 loco on 1st November and IE 071 in Black & Silver on 1st December both at £125. However, they also say " Whilst we are hopeful this information is accurate, manufacturer lead times are frequently prone to be delayed. This information is to be used as a guide only." Quote

WRENNEIRE Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Anyone like to see 073 IE weathered ? Quote
WRENNEIRE Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 I had to stick in the box picture! 201 smaller than normal print on the correct 201 box's Check out the couplings on the smaller box! Love this stuff! Quote
BabyGM Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 That's just cruel about a month to go Quote
Irish Freight Models Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Wrenn can you confirm the coupling arrangement, ie, are the couplings spring mounted as the 201's, (which imho causes a lot of problems with derailing), or are they mounted to the bogies , like the 141/181's ? cheers Quote
snapper Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Looking great if a little clean:x, cant wait to see it running around my layout. Now all I have to do is build a layout. Quote

BosKonay Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Standard NEM pockets? (just pop on a kadee?) Quote
Warbonnet Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Standard NEM pockets? (just pop on a kadee?) Looks that way, would say it's similar to standard Kader made products. Quote
skinner75 Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Is the pope catholic? or 'was the pope in the Hitler Youth?' as I like to say! I have to say, the job done on the 071 is another top notch job - like they say with Pokemon - 'gotta catch em all!' Quote
Irish Freight Models Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Any use Tom? Lovely, just the ticket Wrenn give me a shout there sometime soon Quote
irishthump Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Looks great! Any update on when we'll see the Supertrain livery arrive? Quote
WRENNEIRE Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 As stated previously Graham early December Depends on a few things falling into place but fingers crossed If not definitely late Jan early Feb In the meantime there should be 2 releases of Mk 2 coaches 2 X Black roofed standards and another Orange one Galway EGV & Restaurant, Whereas they will run with the older Lima Galway’s, the roof profile will be different to name one thing Still though let’s wait for them and see what the story is.
