So, following on from these posts over the past few months, scattered throughout the forum, it's time to start a thread on the new 071's.

According to @DonderBlitzen, they are definitely due in freight grey, and according to @Noel, as well as IR, both NIR blue AND freight grey are definites.

Definitely in stock with IRM and Mark's Models by the end of 2024 according to @Noel, who got the info direct from Murphy Models.

IRM opened pre-orders for the 141's / 181's on August 15th, and they're due pretty soon, so it's probably fair to say six or seven months from Expression Of Interest pre-orders to delivery.

I know that the immediate reaction was that there's no need for 071's, but I feel that they will sell well.

Links to the various posts, hopefully in chronological order - maybe @BosKonay could copy the relative posts into this thread, also leaving them in their original threads?

Given the prices that the 071's currently fetch second-hand on eBay, and I put my hand up and admit that I bought a few for far more than they were worth, myself, it will be a relief for anybody who missed out.

Since they're probably pretty far along - they'd have to be if delivery is due this year - does anybody know the actual pricing or what the decoder access will be like?

Going back to the new run of 071's, does anybody know which NIR liveries will be reproduced?

There were quite a variety, and it would be nice to see a 1990's livery, which was missing from the original run, a deep blue with red / faded red warning panel, and a version as they run today.

I'm assuming that the livery application is not yet finalised but the tooling, ie marker lights, probably would be?

Spoke to Paddy today, current reckoning is Q4 2024 best case but more likely they will be ready in the run up to CNY 2025..

forgot to ask about liveries!

CNY? What is that then? I probably should know..........🙄

Its fair to say, based on what has been going on in the past number of years not to just assume that 071s are coming in 2024....it would be more likely that they will come much later. not being pessimistic but remember the 141s which are only due now were supposed to have been release as early as 2021(?)

Maaaaaybe re-read the thread again.

Both @Noel and @MOGUL confirm that they have spoken with Murphy Models and Paddy Murphy, respectively.

I haven’t gotten info direct from murphy before but I don’t think any initial time given to the release date to a mode have been forfilled. even MM can’t prevent delays!

I'm still struggling to get my head around your two posts, here, but I THINK that you're trying to say:

"Whenever Paddy Murphy himself announces an estimated arrival for the new 071's, he will still be subject to external factors that may affect delivery."

But, Paddy hasn't even announced them, yet, never mind given a lead time.

We have livery information from two members who received it from Paddy Murphy and from Murphy Models.

We have an estimated delivery of late 2024 / early 2025 from two members, again who received the info from Murphy Models and from Paddy Murphy.

If Paddy is telling people that, it is fair to assume that he's likely to be more or less on the mark, so why say / imply that he's not?

What do we expect on the pricing front? More prices like the baby GMs? I was kind of caught on the hop with those and just decided to push ahead with my pre-order of 5 despite the high price but if we are looking at €250 for DCC ready I will be a lot more conservative in what I pre-order this time I reckon.

I may have missed it but is this just a re run of the last tooling or a new new tooling with possibly details that may not have been originally possibly to model?

@BosKonay posted in the 201 thread that both the 071 re-run and the 201 re-run should be identical to previous batches.

Happy days for you, Mr. 071!
