popeye Posted April 6, 2014 Author Posted April 6, 2014 (edited) Here are some wagons that i have been weathering. This wagon was made with a TTA oil wagon chassis made a bit shorter & bits cut off & MIR beer keg containers. The kegs were made by me from plastic tube cut and all stuck together. Dunluce Castle Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Fantastic weathering, I love the UTA wagons, which wagons did you use? Dapol? Quote
Mike 84C Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Brilliant modelling, you must have the patience of Jobe to make all those kegs individually. And the unpainted replacement planking looks spot on. thanks for posting. Quote
scahalane Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Beautiful modelling and weathering. Good idea with the beer kegs. Quote
BosKonay Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Just gorgeous. The subtlety of weathering and attention to detail really sets them apart. Quote
Dave Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Lovely work, the weathering detail is fantastic. Quote
StevieB Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I can only agree with all the other comments - wonderful bits of work. Stephen Quote
Glenderg Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Just lovely work Popeye. What I find really interesting about your technique is how you've made the overscale coupling hook almost invisible. Just superb! R Quote
jhb171achill Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Absolutely top class, Popeye. The weathering on the metal strapping looks particularly realistic - beginning to rust in most places, and dirty. The unpainted planks on the UTA van bring back memories too! Just one thing - could you drop me off one of those kegs? Quote

popeye Posted September 17, 2014 Author Posted September 17, 2014 Pallet Cement Wagon Drawing. This is my drawing of the wagon that i built. I hope it helps anyone wishing to build this wagon. the underframe made from my own mould is ok but needs a lot of work to get it right, so it would not be suitable for sale. Anyway Thanks for all your comments. 1 Quote
David Holman Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 That is one fine wagon & a very subtle paint job too. Quote
