Any update on the Park Royal’s please?????

Yes I feel the same way about the lack of updates regarding the Park Royal coaches . Also they definitely are not going to be delivered Q1            as shown on the Accurascale project updates now .

Agreed, it's been a while!

Three of the 16 SKUs are now showing as sold out on the Accurascale website, though I didn't notice them go through the stage of 'only 10 remaining' that I recall on some other product lines in the past.

Any photos of what was in that batch of boxes that you posted on 29th January?

Probably made a last-minute decision to make them O Gauge instead of OO, to go with the O Gauge 121’s.

That’s what the “packaging issue” must have been; they wouldn’t fit into the boxes…

A small packaging issue but we hope we can catch up again and get them here asap.

Either that or they got mixed up with that other historical product of Park Royal. After a few of these on 17th March who can blame them?

They will be delivered in Q1....of 2027.

This aassumes that the various hostile elements in the Gulf region don't start taking potshots at shipping way outside the Strait of Hormuz.

Hi folks,

It's as simple as @BosKonaysaid. There is a packaging issue that needs addressing.

We will do a full update when we know more in the coming days, but here is where we are.

All the models are finished production.

When production is finished, we are sent one of each model by the factory to assess and accept or reject the shipment to ensure they're up to standard.

They were sent just before Chinese New Year began, and received after the festival began.

By the time they got to this side of the world, only 5 were intact. All the rest were mangled in some way due to some frankly shoddy designed internal packaging.

IMG_6818.thumb.jpg.a11999fd7b83cdd2d0f4d55a1bcadd27.jpg

So, it was our duty to tell the factory once they reopened last week to sort the packaging out, as this is unacceptable.

The alternative was to take delivery of them, and watch them get smashed to bits in the postal system.

To ensure proper internal packaging is improved, we are insisting it is completely redesigned and sent to us again to see if it survives. If they do, then we will know our shipping date. If they don't, I will be personally boarding a plane to the far east with a hurl in my baggage.

I hope that clears up the lack of info.

Thanks

Fran

Sorry to hear this, a frustrating time for you folks and absolutely the right course of action, we'll get them when we get them, I for one would rather wait and have tip top models than not 👍

Might have to treat myself to some more vans in the meantime 🙂

Cheers,

Keith

Whats schmozzle in Mandarin?

I don't blame you Fran - after all the work thats been put in, it must be incredibly frustrating to have that happen just within touching distance of the finish line.

I can just picture the utter dismay and disheartened look on your faces when opening the boxes, lads you came through a world pandemic and unknown economic setback. This is a small blip on the radar, not ideal, but fixable, it will get sorted and soon, no worries.👍

Just a thought, do you think they will ship before tango man declares war on China,  asking for a friend.😁

You're absolutely 100% right on that and all here will understand and support that. There's a spare hurl in the shed outside I can donate to the cause....

I was hoping for the long-promised update before placing another order, but FOMO has got the better of me.

FOMO?

Ignoring the damage the close up pic of the coach looks so right, a new benchmark for 00 coaches. They will be worth the wait.

Fran,

Thanks a lot for just getting back to us with what’s actually happening. I’m fully happy that Accurascale are sticking to their guns and insisting on the standard.  So we can all be thankful to you for that. Glad to know what’s happening. When you see things like this it does make me think how difficult the whole process must be, from concept to opening the front door to sign for the package.

Many thanks for the update, I fully agree with your course of action and now i have an understanding of the situation I am happy to wait until the packaging is redesigned and tested.
I appreciate that this must be extremely frustrating for you, thank you for persevering to achieve the top quality.
From what we can see in that image, the model looks superb.

Thanks for the update. Fully understand that the packaging has to be right.

Thst's one lovely looking coach.

Will there be any 'Dicky Park Royals' going cheap to go with my 'Dicky Taras'?   😀

I was thinking the same. I’d take a couple of damaged ones for half price as the basis for conversion projects.

That's bizarre that an experienced factory would balls the packaging up like that, though it's not tven the first time we've seen it. The 121s also came in some well intentioned but poorly executed foam cushioning that caused them to be shunted out the side. The 201s also managed to get propelled through the ends of their blisters fairly often. The models are only as good as the packaging they are shipped in at the end of the day. Poor show. Obviously the emergency brake had to be pulled on these for the moment. Thanks for the update. They look lovely in the close up.

The "stock remaining" flags will only work with in stock items, and don't work for pre-orders unfortunately..

Those are a hard limit input into the system when we place the PO with the factory(at which point we are commited to the numbers), and once it's reached the system stops taking in orders.. From a quick check on our side, it looks like most coaches aren't far away from being sold now either, with some down to the last 1 or 2 units available to pre-order

Many thanks for the info - that explains it then. I'm glad I've got my orders in!

Are there still plans to follow up with the 'main line' types, perhaps with options of the guards' and ambulance conversions, or have you all had enough of the Park Royals?

Ah, I see I'm being tapped up to pay the invoice for the first of the two Park Royals....

Even though they are delayed?

I paid for 4 in full back in May last year, and last week paid for the extra one I had preordered the week before

Some of mine were paid for in December 2024, when I (wrongly) thought delivery was imminent and wanted to avoid a surprise bill in January! I think I got a good price on them though, so I'm not complaining. I haven't yet been asked to pay for my recent extra order - though the payment due date is shown as 31st March.

Our system is set up to send invoices on the due date, so not sure how you would have got sent an invoice with a due date of 31st March unless you requested it, or one of the team sent it..
