Warbonnet Posted June 10, 2020 Author Posted June 10, 2020 Another day, another A preview! This time we look at the latter years of these beauties, with the IR scheme of orange, black and white striping as worn from the late 80s onwards! Here we see 017 before CAWS guard and dayglo panels. Once again some small tweaks are required, and the colour is washed out a bit in the pics (in person the orange is very good!) but overall it's looking very well! Enjoy! Fancy 017? DART8118 Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Models are super and I'm enjoying the daily progression. It's hard to think that this is the magnificence of our railway heritage and thanks to IRM for capturing it on this one. Getting like Bingo now. Sitting here waiting for my 2 numbers to come up. 8118 Quote
iarnrod Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Just noticed one thing. In the photos of the real locos in the IR livery that JHB posted, the top white line on the bodyside extends across the top of the large bodyside grill, but on the model it doesn't. Quote

Noel Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 (edited) So glad I ordered one of those IR tippex ones despite it being slightly out of my era, I always thought that livery on the prototype looked fabulous. The detail seems even better than one could have hoped for, the roof detail, bogies, etc are sublime. Edited June 10, 2020 by Noel Quote

popeye Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 In this picture of A15 will the orange behind the grill be painted black or is this the way they were? Quote
BosKonay Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Hi Popeye, Yes, inside the grill would be all black. Quote
Warbonnet Posted June 11, 2020 Author Posted June 11, 2020 Hi everyone, Today its IR with dayglo panels in the form of 036! Warbonnet Posted June 12, 2020 Author Posted June 12, 2020 Happy Friday, everyone! The last of our decorated samples for view are a smorgasbord of painted bodies the factory sent to us, showing some additional liveries for sign off. Some of these are different numbers on the same livery like A30 and 054, but we also get the see the gorgeous lined green and utilitarian plain black liveries of the 1960s! The odd snail is missing here, and tweak is needed there, but we're well on course. We hope you enjoyed this daily reveal and our findings are being conveyed to the factory next week. After that we can move onto production! We will also have a preview of A Class sound coming up in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for that!
