@Warbonnet What's the latest information regarding delivery dates for the 001 Class? Also, presuming no limit on quantity produced for any particular model apart from A1? Thanks

We're still on course for late September and there is no limit on any quantity of purchases. More the merrier as far as we are concerned!

For today's A Class decorated reveal we turn our attentions to A12, in the very attractive CIE black with yellow ends livery of the mid 1960s. We think this livery is particularly attractive on the Crossley powered metrovicks and expect it to become an enthusiasts favourite!

Enjoy!

Whaaaaat!!!  It's even got the fire extinguisher INSIDE THE DRIVER'S CAB!!!!!!!

Words just don't describe this production. Absolutely superb.

Lads, you'll be telling me there's real diesel in the tanks next, and a bag of taytos and an Indo on the driver's desk in cab 2!

Don’t be daft JHB. Those last bits won’t be in cab 2. They will be on a separate sprue so you can pick which flavour you want, and the Indos will be supplied with a range of dates!

Indeed the cab is not only fully rendered and painted, but the dials on the dashboard are illuminated

Do the dials respond accurately to power and speed settings?

Do they work on DC and DCC?

Can they be recalibrated via DCC control or are they permanently set?

Does the horn sound actually come out of the horn?

That has Richies eye for detail and pushing it to the limit written all over it. The two liveries shown so far are really amazing although I will go for an IR with red warining panel myself. Hopefully a model of A39r in Downpatrick in current livery could be released as a limited edition. Really looking forward to these another winner men.

For me, a silver one, a green and a plain black.

I am preparing a submission for funding to the Dept. of Domestic Expenditure, Matching Curtains and Household Matters for a black-with-yellow and a black’n’tan as well.....

The really BIG issue is weathering. In all reality, anything with a Crossley engine in it was inevitably filthy!

Genuinely, I’d be looking for a highly professional weathering job on the silver one, but it would have to be to a very high standard to do the model justice.

Hi everyone,

We hope you had a good weekend! Ready for the next livery preview? We think it's time for iconic Black & Tan!

Is black and tan the best livery the As wore? It is certainly one of our favourites, and certainly one of the most popular if pre-orders are anything to go by! Here we have A15 in original condition with the high band black and tan livery.

Enjoy the rest of the pics below!

Actually, I resume that that works too? Plenty of stories that they caught fire regularly.

I have this abiding memory of seeing them in 1958 on our hols to Bray making at lrast as much smoke as the steam locos they shared the work with.

Amazing detail - very well done, gents.

Now, do you guys know anything about vaccines? I know a guy who'll buy a few million from you if you can crack that one too.

007 Reporting For Duty!

4.thumb.jpg.36226d7d43588f5a6af0317bb97fedf7.jpg

Today we look at one of those quirky liveries that lasted longer than you might think! In 1987 the IR points logo began appearing following the formation of Irish Rail, with locomotives receiving the branding on existing "SuperTrain" livery. The A's in particular received this treatment in great numbers from 1987, and some were still carrying it into 1993!

1.thumb.jpg.7e8be9a7e81fba45af5f19f893e913fe.jpg

This livery has not been done RTR before, and we are offering two locos in this guise; 007 as seen here and 056!

3.thumb.jpg.4a1cbb252ff50c52cb1e21f1f6b1e79c.jpg

There are some decoration corrections required on this one, namely the black chevron at the front not extending far enough up onto the cab roof, and that IR logo on the side is too big. Both will be corrected before production! The colour is also a little washed out in these pics due to the very bright studio, but the shade of tan looks spot on in normal conditions. 1f642.png:)
