That will keep you out of trouble through the winter. :mutley2:

It's looking like several winters' worth of work. Definitely not a beginner's kit, but on the good side has 21mm gauge provided for, and there seems to be enough allowance for sprung suspension.

If @KMCEis able to get his 800 class drawings scanned, there might even be room to squeeze in a working inside cylinder 🤔 driven from the leading axle.

For now, I'm reading the instructions several times over.

An MM NIR111 for a landed cost of 550-560 euro - ouch!

Brexit not helping of course.

I can remember when Marks were flogging these for 150-160!

https://www.ebay.ie/itm/155080738656?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11010.m1951.l7534&mkcid=7&ch=osgood&euid=cacdeac6c6c546818976ed416c374785&bu=43113670129&ut=RU&osub=-1~1&crd=20220724093406&segname=11010

Oh yes indeed the recent number of murphy models went for crazy coin when the landed costs are considered. There doesn't appear to me be news on the next batch of new build murphy models for quite a while now so I guess prices will hold firm.

If I went up to IE and offered them that for the real 230 in its current state….they’d throw in a mark 3 to sweeten the deal!

Sold for €250 plus BrExit tax plus shipping.

200 quid for theatre Silverfox sulzer you could…

~wait for and get it brand new custom made for more or less the same price if not less

~or wait for the inevitable long term IRM iteration

Apologies but that seems crazy money for a model loco. Rarity is in the mind, what's the point of having stuff boxed in a cupboard destained for an executors sale rather than running on layout.

Some people work, so they like being able to look at their models.

Still, no way of knowing if the purchaser is not going to run it on a layout.

How come so many of these things are ending up in Spain?

Just like the real ones 😛

They are not, it's that DJ is in the Canaries so he is looking at ebay espana.

Your man selling is based in Swindon.

Yeah man thing is well if they find someone to pay that money for it, good for them, but that is away out of what I would consider paying for a loco. if someone pays that 500 that will mean that others may also look for crazy money for any future locos that appear on eBay. This is why even though I do not have one of these, I am gonna pass on this one.
