Emailed Rails to query and they said: "Hello, Unfortunately the orders have been invoiced as placed with Hattons, unfortunately I am unable to add items as I am unable to edit, these have been imported from Hattons and we can't see any further information unfortunately. KInd regards" I gave them my Hatton's order number in my mail, and offered to forward my Hatton's confirmation email to them, but it seems that their hands are tied. I had a similar problem. My order which still hasn't been dispatched included two lighting units which were supposed to be free of charge as there were two faulty units in a previous Hattons order. I was charged £13.26 for the two units & Rails said there was nothing they could do. If the order was for anything else beside these coaches I would have cancelled which I left them know in no uncertain terms, not that ther cared I'd say. Colin_McLeod
Hattons still exists. It has been declared solvent. It is in the process of voluntary winding up so if you want to make a claim I suggest doing it quickly. 2
jhb171achill
22 hours ago, raymurph said: Thanks for all this info Jhb. As a follow on question: I am planning on running this b'n't 6 wheel brake van at the end of a train of b'n't MM cravens and b'n't IRM Park Royals pulled by a silver or b'n't CIE roundel diesel A class. Sometimes also pulled but a IR livery 121. Would this be close enough to prototypical? And as my layout is a dead end branch line, once the loco does a run around to the other end of the carriages for the return journey should the 6 wheel brake be run around to the new back end of the train as well? Many thanks Raymurph The BnT 6w brake will be authentic with the following vehicles: in green OR original-version BnT, Bredins, all types of laminates, Park Royals; even the odd ex-GNR K15 still in GNR livery - brown or blue and cream. Or, original BnT version only, Cravens. Locos - A, C, B101 classes in silver, green, black or black'n'tan. B121s in grey or bralck'n'tan. B141s, and at a stretch B181s in BnT. Anything in Supertrain livery or the later IE / IR liveries would not be authentic. Any fitted wagons on the back of a train would only be grey, as the brown wagon livery wasn't introduced until 1970 by which time the last of these vans had been withdrawn. In operational terms, with vacuum braked / fitted rolling stock, it didn't matter where the brake vehicle was situated, but in the case of loose-coupled stock it had to be at the end. So, if your layout has a goods train coming in (pre-1970, loose-coupled grey 4 wheled wagons), you have to shunt the van to the end before departing again. With your passenger set, it does not need to be shunted. If you're operating a mixed train, like Loughrea, Kenmare, Ballinrobe and Foynes had in their final days, the fitted stock, namely the coach / coaches will be behind the locomotive, thus ensuring continuity of vac brake, with loose coupled wagons and a guard's van behid that. Hope that helps! Edited September 27 by jhb171achill

DJ Dangerous
I wonder what order Rails of Sheffield are processing orders in? By invoice number, by Rails order number, by Hatton's order number, by location, by order size, or is it just random? Also wonder is it only the black and orange coaches that people are missing? I think that @leslie10646 and @jhb171achill said that theirs are missing. As an aside, Rails can at times be slow to ship, and to communicate. I don't think they were prepared for the general business increase after Hatton's passed away. One of my recent orders took about a week and a half, maybe more, to ship. Another, a replacement loco, was shipped with no communication. I didn't receive a reply when I asked for a shipping update, but a week or two later, DHL contacted me about a parcel from Rails, which ended up being that loco. Probably doing their best with what resources they have.
jhb171achill
I contacted Rails about my missing stuff. Email: no answer. Phone call: we’ll look into this and get back to you (about 10 days ago). Loud silence so far. Yes, I guess they’re overwhelmed, but I will hold me powder for the time being. But I DID order one of everything, and I will expect to get that. Told them that you're a Nigerian 419 scammer, and to block your email and fob you off if you call. I'm on commission, you see, so they listen to me. Being serious, though, in case it helps anybody else, maybe some of us could PM each other with invoice numbers, order numbers etc, to try paint a picture of who has and hasn't received their orders, and try figure out what is going on. Happy to volunteer as point man for anybody who wants to get in touch with me.
Colin R
I wonder if other groups are having the same issues ie non-Irish modellers, it would be interesting to hear from them as well. Over on the other site https://www.rmweb.co.uk/search/?q=hattons coaches &quick=1&type=forums_topic There has been a lot of chat about these coaches, it appears that some of the coaches for the UK market were also in this (2nd?) batch and have only just arrived as well, so you are not alone on this one. I emailed one guy there and was told that his order is not due for a month or so making it a 3rd batch. he also went on to say that many from the 1st batch sold out so quickly, that he thinks there is a demand for a second or even a third run at some point, but when that is who knows, I think they even surprised Hatton's/ Rails at just how popular this range has become. With the introduction of the 48-footers, I am sure these are going to be around for a long time. Edited September 29 by Colin R

Also id say Uk deliveries seem to be going out - thats a big anount....all of us outside Brexitstan will have to wait....brexit has made moving goods a bureaucratic nightmare and all those commerical invoices in triplicate to all our individual addresses that have to be processed individually...this is a small family business - not Amazon.....hopefully Mr Starmer can work out something with the EU in the medium term cos its killing small UK businesses..... 3

In Fairness to Rails, anytime I've ordered anything, they've been prompt about getting it sorted and out, I'm sure this is a massive undertaking for them, and kudos to them for it, we've waited nearly 2 years for these. What's a couple more weeks in the grand scheme of things? Besides if all we're worried about is our model coaching stock being a bit late, we have it pretty easy all things considered! I'm sure this time next month we'll be enjoying our new shiny coaches and worrying about the Park Royals next 5
murphaph
I certainly wouldn't criticise them because they are swamped. I'm glad somebody took the project on. It could have simply died with Hattons. Having said that, Rails bombard me with spam emails, almost daily. Can someone in there not put together a short email explaining the situation? A small bit of communication would go a very long way. 8
